Its that time of the year again when the Ghost of TianAnMen (TAM) would be stirred up by the US-led West to haunt the Chinese government. They would be repeat the rhetorics about human rights, freedom and democracy. They would replay those fake scenes of blood and death all over again. They would recall the memories of those "heroic" protesters who are still alive.
What they won't repeat is how Westerners, esp. reporters, have also contributed to for the chaos. It happened in this manner.
After being in the TAM square for months with nothing much to report, Western reporters egged the students to turn violent. From the ensuing chaos, they were able to field reports filled with images of bloody clashes. Based on those material, quite a number of them went on to win field awards in journalism. That's how they gained fame, through the blood of others.
They created many fake news to worsen the situation. A typical dirty trick was to report that some leaders, including the then Primier Li Peng, had fled China.
30 years is coming to pass since June 4, 1989. Before they resort to their dirty tricks to demonise China again, for the 30th time, Western reporters should question their consciences.
What a China it is today! Strong, stable and prosperous. One that benefits not only a billion-over Chinese but also many other people around the world. That's because the Chinese government had stood firm on June 4, 1989.
Imagine what would China be like today if the government had been brought down 30 years ago. We would not have a China as we have today. China would be broken into pieces like a china dropped onto the floor. It might be back to pre-1949 days. Foreign occupations, regional warlordism, economic and social chaos, Only foreign naval vessels would be plying along the Yangtze. Tibet and Xinjiang would be yanked out of China by foreign powers. The Chinese being a downtrodden people all over again.
What happened to those who led the protests, especially those students, who managed to escape from China 30 years ago?
Many went over to the US. From there, they continue to condemn their country of birth and organise protests against China and its government. Whatever discrimination or injustices they might have personally experienced while living in the US, they would stay dumb. Whatever faults they may find in the US government and American society, they stay dumb too. If they dare speak a word against the US or its government, they would be booted out. That's the kind of freedom they are "enjoying" in the US.
30 years should be enough time to show which side is right. It is time to lay the Ghost of TianAnMen to rest, forever.
