The Arab spring in Syria, started more than a year ago instigated by
the USA, has reached a crucial stage now. If the UN mission (Kofi
Annan) failed..then there is NO chance of a peaceful settlement.. a
full scale civil war is on the card...even if the regime in power is
ousted.

Whose fault ?
The Arab spring instigated by the USA.

If there was no Arab Spring,..then there would be no social unrest in
Syria,.. no civilian deaths... The USA and tribal politicians (being
used by the USA) bear equal responsibilities for the tens of thousands
of civilians killed and... for the killings in the future civil wars
(that seem inevitable now).

Has the USA turned Syria (a friend of Russia) into a pro USA country
ruled by a US friend or puppy state..like Saudi Arabia ?

Unlikely.

After the civil war, Syria will likely to become an ultra Islamic
state...rule by Sharia Law...

Who do you think started the war in Libya? in Stria? and in Egypt?
Civilians.

When all the dust is settled, it will be another dictator in Egypt,
another dictator in Libya, and another dictator in Syria. Nothing
will change.

Civilians do not have weapons ???

It depends. But those civilian Sunni Muslims and civilian tribal
groups have received weapons from Saudi Arabia, the USA and Western
power...and Army specialists from NATO and the USA are training these
civilians to use firearms and ..on war tactics. (Eg. in Egypt these
Western specialists were caught and charged in court).

Soon after the start of the uprising(18 months ago), these civilians
killed other civilians (supporters of the government) and..as
expected, western media blamed the killings on the government of
Syria.. to demonize the government...in order to effect an regime
change. Sectarian tribal units of the Army defected only not long
ago..so they were not the killers ,when the uprising started .

NO way...the people will not be allowed to sit on the side lines. They
will be killed in the civil wars between the Islamic groups, the
tribal groups ...and the government armies....(even after the the
regime is deposed..eg the Army top General was killed...the war
continue). The civil war will end ONLY if one of the Islamic
groups...either the Sunni or the Shia score a decisive victory.

If the Sunni won, a US proxy will be installed. If the Shia won, an
Islamic clergy will take over power.

Some believe it is not really a civil war because the
"United States is already intervening in Syria covertly, through the CIA and the Pentagon’s ever-expanding black-ops units. It’s already been reported that the CIA is helping to coordinate the supply of some weapons to the fighters in Syria, and on the ground CIA officers are reportedly deciding which rebel units deserve support and which ones don’t, presumably trying to make sure that Al Qaeda and its ilk doesn’t get Western help."

The following is from Robert Dreyfuss' recent article "Syria's 'Descent Into All-Out Civil War' " in which he mainly blamed Obama.

"No, the real problem with the Obama administration is that never, since the start of the crisis in Syria, did Washington truly seek a political solution. From the start, nearly a year and a half ago, the United States wholeheartedly joined in what has become an exercise in regime change, Obama-style. No, it’s not George W. Bush going in with guns blazing. But as the Arab Spring toppled pro-American dictators in Egypt and Tunisia, and threatened pro-American kleptocrats in Bahrain, the Obama administration seethed over the fact that initially, at least, Syria seemed stable enough. But as the protests grew, the Obama administration decided that getting rid of Assad would weaken Hezbollah in Lebanon, confuse Hamas in Palestine, and stick a finger in the eye of Iran, one of Syria’s few allies. With an increasingly shrill tone, the administration denounced Assad, called him a thug, demanded he leave power, and—most importantly—gave short shrift to the idea that Assad might reach a political accord with the rebel forces, at least with some of the more establishment-minded Syrian opposition groups, on some sort of step-wise transition. That’s what happened in Yemen, pretty much, where the United States had lots of leverage. Problem is, in Syria, the United States would have to depend on getting Russia and Iran to play the role the United States and Saudi Arabia played, respectively, in Yemen. And Washington wasn’t interested.

When various analysts suggested that Vladimir Putin might accept a resolution in Syria that preserves, at least superficially, Russian interests, the Obama administration didn’t bite. (In fact, Russia doesn’t have a lot of real, national interest in Syria, but the loss of Syria—coming so soon after the fall of Libya to NATO—would rile up Russian nationalists against Putin, were he to go along.) When analysts suggested that Iran might play a role in a transition in Syria, perhaps by participating in the United Nations mediation effort led by Kofi Annan, the United States blocked that, too. And of course, by calling for Assad’s head unequivocally from the start, the United States emboldened the rebels, who quite logically may have expected far more American support than they’ve gotten so far."

so why bother? doesn't make sense. why can't the CIA live and let die?

or is it about the money, money, money?

or is it about the arms (weapons) i.e. money, money, money?

or is it about the oil i.e. money, money, money?

It's about politics, politically motivated, i.e., "If you're not with
us, you're against us" logic.

Since human beings walk the earth, a single individual has been in
control somewhere/some-place until now. It will continue to be in the
future.

Civilians within the country. There are always people within the
country unhappy about one thing or another. With nothing better to
do, they vent their anger against the government. Others like him/her
join in.

Once an incident started, the CIA picked the touch and poured in more
fuel, started giving out rifles and other weapons to them.

In the old days, he was called the "chief" or the "head of a clan".
For a nation, he was/is known as the dictator.

Halo bro...single person will be in control....you mean a 'hero' like
figure?

Halo.....in the early 60s' and 70s'...most movies were shown with only
1 hero...(ie..John Wayne) doing all the work. Halo in this
era....those movies are no more popular in today time...today movies
are about 'team work'....
Just like what happen in middle east.....hero saddam husseing aldy
history.....hero gaddaffi oso aldy history....'accidental hero' assad
will soon be history as well....unfortunately the team work in middle
east got 'too many cooks that spoil the soup'...

No, NOT too many cooks, a single master crook, the CIA determined to
make "regime change".

A single master crook!!..are you referring to CIA as the master
crook?.....
Halo bro....CIA is an organisation that exist thru team work....not an
individual.
The point that I am saying is.....we human evolve from time to
time...and it has come to a situation where there is no such thing as
a single person is taking charge of everything....its an open
concept.
That is why we see alot of dictators are perishing away......

the CIA determined to
> make "regime change".
Bro....CIA has its limit in dealing with oversea regime....CIA can
only instigate....financing is also part of an instigation to topple a
legitimate govt.
