Hi!
I'm a member of an italian musical group interested about folk music. Now we
are working at a record of traditional Christmas music of many different
countries. Collecting materials for this work I've found the beautyful
breton song called "Kanomp Nouel" or "Noelenn Brehed"; so, someone can help
me and my "band" to find the complete breton lirycs of this song? Now the
only words that I know of this song are the following:
...hag a za Mari gant an hent
brasoc'h he anken evit ken
kanomp nouel

kanomp nouel, nouel, nouel
ganet eo Jesus hon salver
kanomp nouel...

Many thanks and sorry for my bad english!

Sandro

Here's another one :

"Jojeb a lâre de Vari,
Troñset ho brozh, deomp da c'hoari,
Kanomp Nouel !"

(OK, this was just a mock-up lyric based on the hymn and sung by people
who got bored at church... Meaning :
"Joseph told Mary
"Roll up your dress and let's have fun,
"Sing Noel.")

I'm not sure for the last part of the text, and I'm certain that many
persons in this place know the breton language far better than I do, but
I shall try :

Chorus :
Let's sing Christmas, Christmas, Chrismas,
Jesus, our Saviour, is born :
Let's sing Christmas.

Here we are gathered, my brothers,
In order to sing a song for our Saviour,
Let's sing Christmas.

For tonight, as you all know,
The Saviour of the World is born
Let's sing Christmas.

Joseph and blessed Marie
Are both striding through the world,
Let's sing Christmas.

And Mary is following Her path
With the greatest pain,
Let's sing Christmas.
