I like to thank you for mentioning Lt. Gen Smith Dun. First Commander-in-Chief
of Indepedent Burma's Armed Forces.

Although, History had denied him a Place in the Annals of Modern Burma's Armed
Forces.

His family and his friends will remember him fondly. But because his Personal
History is our National History, we must remember him accurately.

General Thura Tin Oo BC-3651
Brig. General Tin Pe BC-3508
Brig. General Sein Win BC-3525

Many army officers were transferred from British Army to Burma Army some time in 1947. So, their serial numbers begin with 5***. Lt. General Smith Dun, Brig. General Saw Kyawr Doe, to name a few. Most were highly educated and spoke English fluently than their counterparts who continuously participated in BIA, BDA and so forth.

If you know other officers and their serial numbers, please share.
