With due respect, I cannot support you writing this;
The cost of telephone calls in Myanmar was riduculously low, far too low
to finance a proper maintenance of the infrastructure.
On the other hand, MPT doesn't have enough intelligence (or freedom of
action)to make the clever choices:
1 Keeping only one standard for mobile phone network.
2 Allowing the foreign visitors to bring and use their own phones.
By reducing the price per minute for the international calls, the
revenue per call would decrease, but the number of minutes would
eventually increase dramatically (this is the law of demand versus offer).
This is basic marketing.
