The govt will force you to go online every month and put in
your earnings , if you get any welfare at all. If the earnings are low
, it will force you to close your business and start applying for
regular jobs and if you refuse it will deny you benefit for three
years.
Taxi drivers and others are going to be badly affected

Yes, it's ridiculously bureaucratic, and organisations like the Low
Incomes Tax Reform Group have been trying to get it changed before it is
introduced. However I don't think the government has listened.

Mind you, the previous system was almost as bad. If you were claiming
tax credits you were supposed to tell them about changes in your income
as soon as they happened. If you're a self-employed small trader, that's
every day.

Far better to end personal tax allowance, all housing and other
benefits apart from free education worth £5000 a year per child and
free health and replace it with a universal adult citizens allowance
of £100 a week , in or out of work , rich or poor , which would be
increased with growth,

Then there would be no incentive to sit at home and the whole
population would be at work.

Think about it , you have £100 a week coming in guaranteed , so you
can afford to spend time retraining for a higher skilled job, or if
you are disabled you can try online working or phone calls.
The point is that it saves you countless hours wasted having to sign
in or refuse work because it would affect your benefit

It not about whether any individual is more likely to get a job - but
the fact that there aren't enough jobs to go around, full stop.

You forget that people with money in their pockets create jobs and
the more the money ie the higher the welfare the more jobs are created
as has been shown in Europe and elsewhere
