Of local authorities, EU and Westminster, that latter are by far the
most expensive and corrupt.

Essex is as big as Luxembourg, that's a separate EU state, so why not Essex?

Central government civil servants are a bunch of boring, unimaginative
killjoys when compared to local government officers who are paid less
and do a better job. The MPs aren't much better and are more interested
in "talking tough" to thick people than actually delivering services.

A Republic Of Essex could offer it's citizens lower tax, better public
services and more personal freedoms.

The only problem is that they wouldn't be able to find anyone bright enough
to run Essex within the county boundary. And can you build an economy on
hair dressing and patching up dodgy cars?

Maybe, but I've found most governmental staff working for the county to
be quite likeable, conversely, most working for "the crown" to be tools.

I hate the fucking crown. They should melt the fucker down. Especially
after that poor nurse supposedly topped herself, that after Diana turned
me staunchly republican. We've got shit like "crown immunity", court
cases of "the crown vs x or y, when no third party is involved"

On a serious note, Britain's enemies hate our establishment and our
state not the people themselves. Abolish both and we've no enemies, so
no-one has to risk being blown up by terrorists, no soldiers have to die
fighting for the shitty crown and so forth.

If I was running the Essex Republican Army, we wouldn't kill anyone like
the IRA, not even squaddies and cops, just destroy central government
records, blow up unoccupied crown buildings and wipe their databases.
The clowns at Westmister would soon get the message.

Anyway, once we've won independence, all the money previously sent to
central government in tax would be simply distributed equally amongst
the people, so we wouldn't need a welfare system.

So nobody pays tax... good luck running your public services!

You blame the crown for that?

That's you you're describing, right?

You've admitted it in this thread.

Well we could for tax the local services as done anyway, and instead of
having welfare use the remainder of tax to distribute equally. So we'd
get a rebate rather than just a tax bill for what was central government
tax. For the majority, that'd mean less to pay in net terms.

It may be worth paying something "abroad" in order to get NHS
entitlements for our citzens there, as happens in Europe.

Are you suggesting Von Gothas should pack up and go back to Germany.
Must admit your stand has merit, but in order to make it work you will
have to first confiscate all their wealth and spread the proceeds back
to the country from whence it was plundered years ago.

If you are doing all this to placate the terrorists, it wouldn't work.
This is because Muslim terrorists are not humans.
But if any of your politicians makes it known that future attacks
on UK will be responded by Pig Poop drop on Mecca, I guarantee
the Muslims would become as meek as the Hindus.
Unfortunately here in the US our black monkey has stated time and
again that for him Islam remains the great religion of his
forefathers.
