A few days ago, after pleading guilty to first-degree criminal sexual
conduct, Benjamin Delacruz Ajqui was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the
rape of a 14-year-old girl. The attack took place this past summer, amidst a
pastoral setting in central Minnesota.

On the afternoon of July 28, 2009, the teenaged victim was riding her
bicycle along the Lake Wobegon Trail, when she encountered Ajqui. The
Mexican national, who was also riding a bike, grabbed the girl and shoved
her down into a ditch, where he raped her....
