SYLHET, Sept 1:-Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony and the present
government is committed to upholding that tradition, Finance and Planning
Minister M. Saifur Rahman said here today, reports BSS.
"The government of the four-party alliance has stepped up various efforts to
construct many religious establishments in the country to perform religious
rituals peacefully," he said.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of "Durga Mandir" at Ramkrishna
Mission Ashram in the Sylhet city.
Principal of Ramkrishna Mission Ashram Shami Chandra Nath Nanda, President
of Sylhet city unit of BNP Ariful Haque Chowdhury, among others, spoke on
the occasion.
Later, a cultural function was also organised on the occasion.
