A Note to Taj Hashmi on Revisiting Tagore

Friday March 11 2005 17:08:11 PM BDT

Mohammad Abdullah from USA

I have enjoyed Taj Hashmi's note on Tagore although much echoed with the
historical facts concurrently with the modern fascinating inclination on the
literary individuals. From the previous writings of Taj Hashmi during the
past five or six years in the cyber space I have known him as my younger
compatriot, and often felt closer with his content.

Any way, this is the first time that we are exchanging through NFB. I
sincerely acknowledge that NFB has developed a healthy arena in the Reader's
Opinion where people of various origins and cults contribute with their free
opinion. I hope our participation will continue to be strong and
constructive in the coming days for the development of our country,
Bangladesh. Further I trust that our intellects unite to undertake that
massive task to go ahead as we have all seen how Singapore developed their
economy during the past three decades or so.

I have gone with the complete exercise of Rabindranath (1861 - 1941) and his
literary guru Bankim (1838 - 1894) including contemporary Sarat (1876 -
1938) and some what younger contemporary Bibhuti Bhushan Banerji (1894 -
1950). Besides I have gone through tons of other Hindu writers and poets
(modern and old) including their biographies.

Also I tried to probe their way of life style, family background and
practice, education, habit (including body language), etc. No where I saw as
much communality as these four scoundrels have propagated to the society or
as a member of the mankind. It doesn't matter whether each of them is dead
now or how long ago they propagated the venom of communalism. Mankind
deserves to evaluate the civilization's character and contributors
throughout the ages.

Thus, mankind is still involved in research activities on historical events.
People still love to evaluate Shakespeare whether he was Jew-hating person
or Nazrul as a secular individual or Michael (Modhusudan Dutt) as a Hindu
Ramayan passionate. I'll come back to Rabindranath later but let me discuss
about the behavior of the contemporary communal fellows.

Bibhuti Bhushan was such a personality that he used to ask every Muslim boy
from the Bengali language (called vernacular) class to leave before drinking
water in his personalized glass made of brass or Hindu-kansha (as the
orthodox communal Hindus prefer) served by a Hindu Brahmin boy from the same
class.

The water used to be collected from the hand pressed tube-well by the same
Hindu Brahmin boy. In general, each Muslim student used to be on the school
campus (Hostel) from childhood until Matriculation. In one event there were
five Muslim boys (largest number in one class) in one class during 1930s in
the Hindu dominated Bogula (Bongaon) High School. There was only one Muslim
teacher in the entire school used to teach ARABIC and some religious issues
in the Hostel. Bibhuti Bhushan used to shout on the Muslim students until
each NERHEY is driven out from the class room for his sacred drinking style.

These five Muslim students today live in Bangladesh (city of Dhaka) and all
of them either approached 80 years of age or more than 80 years. Each of
them rose to a high position with higher education from abroad during the
Pakistani era. They were engaged as College Faculty and DPI, Director of a
Government Organization having prior University Professorship, Director of a
Government Organization under the Ministry of Agriculture, son of a famous
poet engaged in Art and Humanities (often I notice he looks younger than his
age), and served the Ministry of Information and later days became editor of
a Journal or Magazine. Another Muslim boy, who joined later that school,
became a cabinet Minster in the Ziaur Rahman cabinet.

I have heard the sad story of Bogula (Bongaon) High School, located not too
far from the City of Calcutta and Bangladesh border located in the former
undivided district of Jessore (now in Northern Chabbish Pargana), where
Bibhuti served as a Bengali language teacher throughout his lifetime from
the students of that school. Bibhuti was a resident there as he was born and
brought up in that environment.

His behavior toward the Muslims was confirmed by other younger Muslim
students attending the same school until 1947. Now all these people I know
still live in Bangladesh and passing their retired life. This scoundrel
writer enjoyed popularity on PATHER PANCHALI from the Bangladeshis without
knowing his personal behavior. The story of this book belongs to Bogula
(Bongaon) town and the neighboring villages.

Nearly every Muslim of Bangladesh those who read this product in 1940s and
1950s I found them as an inclined person blindly supporting the product. But
they did not know Bibhuti personally at all. Neither had they known his
biography. When this product was filmed by Satyajit Ray he chose the same
locations in the neighborhood where Bibhuti wandered. The amazing matter of
the fact is that to comprehend his writing during my early age I had to read
the ENGLISH translation and not the original Bengali text.

This happened because I was taken to the ENGLISH medium education system
throughout my life as my parents preferred it. Therefore, BENGALI became a
sort of next preferred language though a daily communicating medium in the
early life via speaking, reading, and writing. At the age of six or seven I
had to digest Tagore's talgachh, falgun, samanya kshati, balya smriti, etc.
including his biography.

I still remember that possibly in Class V the EXPLANATION (byakhya) of
shashon kora taar-i shaajey shohaag korey jey-go used to be a subject
matter. My parents once made me a writer of Tagore's biography which was
published in a daily newspaper (Sangbad) of Dacca when I was barely 10 years
old. Now (today) over several decades later I am writing opposite with much
more analytical perspective leaving behind my blindness. Beside these events
the exercise went on with Kamini Roy's sukh (happiness), Nazrul's jatir
kandari, sankalpa, and so on along with Michael's Matribhasha. Invariably
before that I finished Nazrul's several verses for the children.

The exercise kept going through Rajani Kanta Sen, Sunirmol Basu, Suniti
Kumar Chatterjee, Kalidas Roy, Akshay kumar Boral, Sukumar Roy, and many
other Hindu poets and writers. Each continued with heavy pressure from my
parents to advance as a versatile champion in the school in literature both
in ENGLISH and BENGALI. They also emphasized Mathematics to carry on.

In ENGLISH still reverberates in my mind blow, blow thou winter wind .. as
man's in gratitude beside cycle, cycle, cyril, and lines written in
Kensington Garden with cuckoo-like birds, etc. Indeed the poets were
Shakespeare, Christina Rossetti, Walter de la Mare, Shelly, Keats, Cowper,
Longfellow, and many others. To note here, I did not escape from Captive
Ladie or Meghnad Bodh Kabya including several sonnets of Michael.

Needless to say, my parents were was very much fond of literature and kept
pounding on me with various global writers' products. They also did not
forget to pour the translations of Tolostoy and Gorky. Tolostoy's
translation started with a tiny piece of Mohammad Nasir Ali (Sikder), a
writer of Bangladesh for Children. He was born in Bikrampur (Dacca) in 1911
and died in the city of Dacca in 1975. Gorky's translation was procured from
the Indian corner and later obtained a fair print from the Standard
Publishers in Dhaka Stadium when arrived during the Pakistani era.

Indeed my parents succeeded with my extempore abilities but I never became a
literary guild as they expected. I did not turn to a writer either in
Bengali or in English language. But as I grew up and advanced more and more
I had to open my eyes concerning what each of these personalities was. As a
little boy of six or seven years I asked my parents why Rabindranath and
Michael (Modhusudan Dutt) were bearded while Nazrul was not. Also I enquired
why Michael became Christian and had French wife (not taught at that time as
having the second wife or rest of the life girl friend) and Nazrul had a
Hindu wife. By then I came to know about Pakistan and India and asked why
such a division took place although learning about the Moghol Kings of
Delhi.

There was no obvious answer from my parents for such questions but advised
me to read and learn at a later time concerning my questions. Almost at the
same time of my age I came to know that several parts of Assam (not Sylhet
or Karimganj only) as a province and Murshidabad as a single district had
majority Muslims beside some pockets of majority of Muslims in the district
of Nadia. My queries continued as I was probing further and eventually
arrived why these lands became part of Hindu dominated India instead of
becoming part of Pakistan.

At that time my parents told that the descendent of Mir Jaffer Ali Khan
during 1947 had a Hindu KEPT. This person was influenced by her and had
property on the western side of Bhagirathi. This Hindu KEPT justified that
her property and her aged fiancée's property will be safe if the entire
Murshidabad district becomes part of India. Nice logic made Murshidabad to
be in India.

Later on I realized that this KEPT bribed the Christian Missionary priests
of Krishnanagar Christian Missionary School (commonly known as CMS) to
communicate to the British authority with her desire and advocated on behalf
of her stupid fiancée to make a revised map. The communication was done
through this stupid traitor, a descendent of a bona fide traitor in the
history of Bangladesh. People of Murshidabad including several parts of
Muslim majority Nadia and Chabbish Pargana districts celebrated PAKISTAN
until August 18, 1947 (presumed to be Eid day). On August 19, 1947 the flag
of INDIA was hoisted everywhere.

Getting back to Rabindranath, one will find that not only he opposed the
establishment of the University of Dacca but advocated on many occasions
against Muslims including the 1935 event. This scoundrel laureate had a
confusing character of wave-particle duality signifying Louis de Broglie's
(Nobel Laureate in Physics, 1929) hypothesis whether an ELECTRON is a
particle or a wave.

Such a confusing character never showed a side with the British on one hand
in the public arena and also he never sided himself with the general mass
seeking freedom from the British. He did not show a clear distinction what
behavior he preferred. If we extend the analysis Tolostoy or Gorky was very
sound with their opinion. Being a son of a rich man Tolostoy preferred to
spend his life like an ordinary person for the rest of his life. He died in
a railway station's rest room out of sickness without treatment having no
penny in his pocket. Later his body was identified as TOLOSTOY by others.
Rabindranath looked for money so that he can multiply the value of his
paternal estate (zamindari) by several folds. He went on sucking Muslim
peasants shamelessly for over a decade in modern KUSHTIA and PABNA
(districts under former East Pakistan).

Story does not end here. For personal benefit he announced for the RAMPANT
SEARCH of LALAN FAKIR's contribution and did not hesitate to pay the same
MUSLIM peasants. Upon collecting Lalan's work, instead of editing it, he
went on revising with marvelous colors and produced in his own name in
different form of publications. This literary thief wanted to be famous in
SHORT STORY writing. During his time Guy Mopassant already earned global
fame for his short stories. This scoundrel competed with him and produced
400+ short stories in FOUR volumes. How many of them are of QUALITY? Taj
Hashmi noted that he enjoys DOZEN of short stories out of massive 400+
products.

How come Rabindranath is a versatile short story writer then? What is the
QUALITY of the rest of short stories? Like Taj Hashmi when I started probing
FOUR volumes then found very much stupid stories became short stories.
Rabindranath matched exactly 102 sonnets with Michael which is a nice
coincidence.

Is he a famous sonnet writer in Bengali language? None of his sonnet is
remarkable though he followed the rhythm of abbaabba for the first eight
lines (octave) and cdcdcd or cdecde or cdedce for the remaining six lines
(sestet) constituting fourteen lines. Sonnet master Francesco Petrarcha
(also known as Petrarch) remained classic having Michael as a milestone in
Bengali language. Is Rabindranath famous with dance drama? May be he is
famous with respect to Hindutwa and among the Hindus, but surely not with
respect to the global context.

Taj Hashmi also noted that he enjoyed TWO NOVELS out of a massive number.
Why his only two novels are famous? What happened to other so-called novels?
How many of them are popular? How many of them are taught in the BENGALI
LANGUAGE SCHOOL in the Universities around the world? Invariably CHOKHER
BALI was first put to the silver screen in 1938 while Nauka Doobi was filmed
in mid 1930s having Dhiraj Bhattacharyya as the HERO.

Please probe into Dhiraj's second part of the autobiography known as JOKHON
NAYOK CHHILAAM as how this so-called novel was filmed in the city of
Calcutta foot-paths including sinking of the boat while saving all the set
participants survived. Satyajit Ray was kind enough to produce GHOREY
BIREY - an ambiguous or bogus unrealistic novel in the colored screen. This
was a gratitude to Rabindranath as a student in his class as Hindus always
show gratitude to any sort of teacher of the class room.

About the ENGLISH text, Religion of Man, what Rabindranath portrayed is his
own opinion and no where nearer to any doctrine. What philosophy is conveyed
there to the mankind? Till today Plato's REPUBLIC is a lively text for
mankind which gives a definition of a sovereign country or state. Thus, to
the best of my knowledge this classic text is taught in some basic
Humanities courses and referred nicely not only in the Western Hemisphere
but throughout the world.

Also please be referred to THE POLITICS OF ARISTOTLE and METAPHYSICS of
ARISTOTLE. All these texts are firmly standing at Barnes and Noble or Books
a Million or Dalton Books or any other common book sellers throughout the
world. I have seen these books used to be available in NEW MARKET book
stores including foot-paths across it and BANGLA BAZAR (old part) in Dhaka.

I remember seeing them in LONDON and other big cities in around the world.
How many people see or read or probe RELIGION OF MAN? A few ENGLISH
translations of Rabindranath's short stories I have gone through. These
translations were made by Rabindranath because he wanted to make money in
the ENGLISH speaking territories for his junk short stories. Referring here
KABULIWALA or MUSHOLMANI (not Musolmani) DIDI is not portraying the true
appearance of the Muslims. He portrayed Rahmat Muslim Kabuli as a MURDERER.
His objective was to portray like this and he did so successfully. He knew
how to passivate issues and mange looking a sound naïve. This person told in
late 1930s in an interview while replying to a question that he did not know
adequately to address the issues of the 57% Muslims of the Bengali speaking
land.

This person was honored in Iran (last Shah's father Reza Pahlavi) in 1931
and enjoyed Persian dishes. He traveled there by KLM which flew only at a
height of 10,000 ft. having several turbulences and bumps. This caused agony
and palpitation to the 70 year-old dogmatic Hindu-Brahmo as he received
welcome note inside the aircraft.

To note here further, Rabindranath never hesitated to consume
Kachchi-Biryani or Polau and Goat-Meat Korma. He lovingly used to call it as
MUTTON KORMA. He had a Muslim paid cook who used to prepare these dishes for
him. Most likely seeing this nature of Bishwa-Kobi-Raj-Guru communal SARAT
CHANDRA CHATTERJEE noted in one of his so-called masterpiece that "....
NEREHEY holey ki hobey randhey bhalo." Evidence exists that Rabindranath
enjoyed the dishes of AMINIA and ISLAMIA as numerous hypocrite Hindus do
every day since the founding days of these two Restaurants in Calcutta
nearly a century ago.

I intend to note here that during Pakistani era in early 1960s a booklet was
published by the then East Pakistan (provincial) Government which probed
into the communal activities of the Indian sub-continent before 1947. In
that document three profound personalities were branded as communal heroes
in order of involvement both in mind and body language as the greatest
communal of all times: (1) Rabindranath Tagore, (2) Mohandas Karamchand
Gandhi, and (3) Shyamaprasad Mukerjee (not Mukherjee).

Invariably I have designated Rabindranath Tagore as a communal tray having
literary heroism and championship in all avenues of literature without
having quality on several occasions at NFB since 1999. The bottom line is
that Rabindranath did not need VOLUME after VOLUME without QUALITY. It is
only QUALITY which matters in literature. He scored to the goal post by
assuming that the ground was empty. Till today Hindus think that he is the
champion of literature and nobody has beaten him.

Thus, he acquired BISHWA-KOBI, BORSHA-KOBI, KOBI-GURU, etc. titles from the
Hindus. If I start pulling each hair from his literary skin it will keep
coming one by one as I did before. I can pile up with tons of negatives
about not only this personality but also his literary depth via forging and
staling concepts in other languages. This person has copies several Persian
poets and writers. He had access to these documents. He has placed new
colors and often used re-furbishing style to present literary materials.

I question as how much is his original work and how much he has
intelligently stolen from others? His hatred toward Muslims indicated as he
had only one Muslim in his class in the last bench. How come he could not
pick up any other Muslim in his class room if he was a true TEACHER and
PHILOSOPHER? Just see how many people were educated by Plato or Socrates or
Aristotle although they were all pagans.

To become a teacher one does not need religious inclination but needs
attitude and clean mind. Rabindranath's mind was polluted and contaminated
with communal hatred fuel known as HINDUTWA by using a jacket of
Brahmo-Samaj. Invariably he was a thug and hypocrite. He did not want
freedom from the British but showed too common mass his solidarity and
integrity by declaring his support for certain political issues. In his mind
he was a crook and Muslim-hater. Beyond doubt Rabindranath was a top
communal hero under the neutral skin.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi possessed mediocre to low profile or less than
average caliber intelligence having professionally unsuccessful career as
lawyer. This stupid used to utter always HINDU-MUSLIM when ever he used to
speak or chat with people. This chap used to speak once or twice a week and
announced that he would like to live at least for 125 years. Thus, he used
to speak occasionally but he used to produce intrinsically in his mouth
HIUNDU-MUSLIM. He had no other preferred phrase other than this favorite
coupled phrase. Exactly this is portrayed by Richard Attenborough in his
classic production in 1982.

A nice observation was documented by Attenborough in that film. Mohandas
Gandhi used to love his personal praise. Once he expected in the Congress
Meeting that M. A. Jinnah calling him as BAPUJI or GANDHIJI. But this did
not happen as Jinnah uttered "Mr. Gandhi" at the end of his lecture. Gandhi
was upset at this event which indicated that he was already a self-styled
FATHER OF NATION for the British occupied India. In reality he was the
father of the Indian Hindus at that time in pre-1930 days.

His policy never won freedom from the British. The entire subjugated people
replied properly which was against Mohandas Gandhi's counter preaching.
Another perspective of Gandhi was his hatred toward Bengali-speaking
leadership within Congress Party. He drove out Shubhas Chandra Bose from the
Congress President position with the help of J. L. Nehru and Sarder Patel in
1938.

Thus, Gandhi asserted within Congress a sound KING-MAKER. This was a nasty
game for Gandhi which Bengali-speaking Hindus overlook as eventually Nehru
was crowned with the leadership though Abul Kalam Azad remained a puppet
hero of the same party. One may note that no one prayed behind Azad on the
1946 Eid day in GARHER MAATH. Azad had to resign from the IMAMATI on that
day. This happened due to Azad's presumed puppet like behavior of the
Hindus. Gandhi often became nasty and dirty when politics became a tool for
his vehicle. He was an excellent pretender of peace-making force.

His behavior gave a vitiated atmosphere to M. A. Jinnah which eventually
prompted him to quit the Congress Party and packed up for living in a
secluded environment in London. Jinnah branded him as a GREAT HINDU and only
a great Hindu when he was assassinated at the bullets of a fanatic Hindu.
Prior to his killing Gandhi was colored with HINDUTWA by Jinnah on several
occasions in the public domain. Jinnah had reservations addressing him as
BAPUJI or GANDHIJI. Jinnah never considered him as a frontline leader as he
possessed sharp common sense and outright decision ability. Of course Gandhi
never belonged to any political party but showed his faithful inclination
toward Congress Party.

Shyamaprasad Mukerjee became a cabinet Minister in A. K. Fazlul Huq's
cabinet in 1941. He was taken in the cabinet to re-furbish Huq's past
relationship with Ashutosh Mukherjee (father of Shyamaprasad) yet they were
running parallel portfolio. Being a member of that cabinet Shymaprasad
became more vocal as a communal and elevated to the top of the communal
ladder as he delivered a lecture in early 1945 at the bank of the River
Burhiganga across the Buckland Bund near Sadarghat. Currently this is the
south side of the East Bengal High School and very much adjacent to the
RUPMAHAL Cinema Hall.

In this empty land he organized a public meeting where he announced that all
the Muslims of the Bengali-speaking land will be re-converted as Hindus in
the Schedule Caste category as they were converted from that caste.
Otherwise he'll arrange sending them to Iran-Turan-Arab-Afghanistan. If he
fails to do so then as last alternative he would not hesitate to drown them
in the River Burhiganga. At that moment he pointed his finger toward the
River Burhiganga.

It is a mere surprise to see the first sentence of Taj Hashmi. Today there
is no such nationality or word (except for the Hindus) as BENGALEES. It is
dead word for any Bangladeshi who believes in Bangladesh. There is no such
nationality or race other than the race comprising of the soil of
Bangladesh. However, a devout BENGALEE should be compared to a devout HINDU
not a devout Muslim. Rabindranath is nowhere nearer to any PROPHET or
religion preacher of the world.

According to Michael Hurt PROPHET MOHAMMAD is the first person on the
civilization who had extraordinary charismatic character that no individual
met till to date. In HUNDRED GREAT lives (published circa 1953) PROPHET
MOHAMMAD was placed in number one under the classification of reformist.
Gautama Buddha (spelled that way) was the second in that listing. In the
same book Julius Caeser was leveled as the number one CONQUERER.

The second was Alexander of Macedonia. Number one scientist was Isaac
Newton, and amazingly Edward Jenner, William Harvey, etc. discoverers
(medical scientists) got room for their discovery related to the vaccination
and blood flow. Nevertheless, this was a solid biography book and much
superior quality with the content which I had to digest when I was less than
10 years of age. I had a task to read one biography each week and then
narrate what I learnt from there. I did not see many names contained in
HUNDRED GREAT LIVES but not mentioned by Michael Hurt. None of these books
noted about Rabindranath Tagore while both the books had sufficient room for
Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Geoffrey Chaucer, Percy Bysse Shelly, William
Shakespeare, and many similar contributors.

Indeed I am a devout Muslim but not a fanatic (I can claim firmly) as many
people assume without knowing me. This is because I point out the mistakes
that the Hindus did more than the Muslims of the sub-continent before 1947.
I often become very strong critique of the practicing Muslim. I have
produced several memos and notes for the NFB readers during 2000 and 2001
wherein I have mentioned the weaknesses of the practicing Muslims. I have
written on ISLAMIC KHUTBA, ISLAMIC WIVES, ISLAMIC SUICCESSION, etc. pieces
at NFB. When time comes again I intend to write the negatives of the
practicing Muslims or any religious person.

Once upon a time a Bangladeshi compatriot mentioned that Rabindranath has
written a lot of things that is also found in the Holy Quo'ran when I was
invited at his house. Upon comprehending his fathom in the subject I had
asked him whether Quo'ran came first or Rabindranath's writing came first.
At that moment he was turned off and for a moment he looked at me to
understand what I was asking.

After a moment he said that we become so emotional that we lose control what
we say. Unfortunately he could not recollect poems or novels or short
stories except for two or three names. I trust very confidently that often
compatriots throw bullets in the darkness to reach the target. Sometimes
many compatriots look for short cut route to achieve the winning card.

On another occasion there was a discussion on Rabindranath at one of the
compatriot's house. Such a good food is prepared when somebody throws some
remarks. At one pint during this discussion I figured out that all the
compatriots had no knowledge as how many songs Rabindranath has written.
Same question was posed concurrently with the contribution of Nazrul. The
knowledge container was now open and every one admitted that we never
thought about it any time.

When I was remaining quiet throughout the discussion then one compatriot
directed the question to me and asked for help. I had to reply quietly that
Rabindranath has produced some where around 2800 songs and Nazrul has
produced some where around 3300 songs. Unfortunately none of the compatriots
could believe this for fact. Every one said how this is possible while
Rabindranath remained the poet laureate.

Almost every one went to the cyber space for quick searching within the next
24 hours. When the fact was extracted then I was called for the corrected
numbers. But everyone acknowledged the fact that my numbers were closer to
what they have found. Of course I mentioned with the possibility and uttered
the word "IN THE VICINITY OF."

It is totally untrue that Rabindranath is the only lyricist in Bengali
literature. Where is the position of Nazrul with his variety and
compositions exceeding the quality and content for each song? Nazrul is the
first writer-poet contributed to Gazals. Do we see any variety with
Rabindranath's production process? If his songs are so wonderful then why
all the radio stations in Bangladesh and India do not tune every now and
then? If Rabindranath is the classic poet laureate then why he is not the
national poet of Bangladesh? One may note that he is not the national poet
of India although he produced India's national anthem.

Concerning the national anthem of Bangladesh, it is disgraceful that Indian
puppet Mujib had adopted a stupid poem as a national, anthem which is
commonly difficult to utter for nearly 99.9% people of Bangladesh. Even the
so-called elite and educated people cannot utter clearly the first 10 lines
of the poem as their national anthem. Mujib adopted this poem disregarding
Dwijendralal Roy's poem. He also ignored the feelings of the rest of the
law-makers including the people of the country.

At that time (in early 1972) people were engaged in stabilizing from the
impulse of the liberation war. During that vacuum period Mujib quickly
adopted the national anthem and introduced the Indian style constitution.
Today we are carrying a shameful legacy which does not have any scenario of
Bangladeshi by origin or flavor of Bangladesh. It is shameful that the
national anthem is written by a foreigner national possessing HINDU-washed
communal ideology for a secular country. It is irony that Bangladeshis did
not find a secular writer to coin their national anthem. Today though the
country acclaims nearly 60% education rate but cannot utter this national
anthem profoundly.

Nearly every one breaks the tongue or chick to pronounce each word. Not a
single day laborer can utter this anthem properly except for AMAR SONAR
BANGLA AMI TOMAI BHALOBASHI. That's all for each Bangladeshi, in general.
Should a national anthem go only this far for a citizen? I have seen in
India that many ordinary people can utter their national anthem very clearly
except for the southern part of India. The people from the southern part do
not like to pronounce their anthem as they do not understand a single word.
Regionalism has plagued them for which I do not blame. Some day it may be
difficult to keep Hindu-India united as many Indians emphasize at the outset
of the 21st century.

On several occasions during 2000 through 2004 periods I had suggested to
adopt a fresh national anthem having Bangladeshi blood, mind, and heart. The
law-makers need some bold attitude to alter Mujib's puppet legacy. Also I
wish Bangladeshis should come forward with excellent pledges for their
remarkable national anthem. Essentially the national anthem needs massive
overhaul and tremendous alteration. Re-structuring of the national anthem is
more than likely to energize common mass toward the development of the
country.

In conclusion, I am totally against any feature of Rabindranath except for
reading and knowing Rabindranath as I have done. His character must be
publicly exposed those who love Bangladesh. I appeal to the elites and
educated people to review the legacies of Rabindranath arraying him in a
Bangladeshi pipeline and checking properly whether Rabindranath truly fits
in a Bangladeshi context. This enemy must be removed democratically through
mass movement and mass support. I feel that every one should have pragmatic
and analytical mind to absorb criticism. I hope that I have described enough
now from my extempore sources. More will be next time, if some reasonable
debate takes place on the pertinent subject.
