No, Lara Dutta is not a Bengali, she was born into a Punjabi family, where her father L. K. Dutta is a Hindu Punjabi and her mother Jennifer Dutta is a Christian-Scottish, so before marriage, she was a Punjabi. and after marriage, as her husband, Mahesh Bhupati is Christian so she is basically Christian now.
