Addressing the 19th death anniversary of Gazi Golam Mostafa, the
Foreign Minister said a close associate of the Bangabandhu, late Gazi,
was a very important organising personality of the Awami League.

He said the one time president of the Dhaka city Awami League and
Chairman of the Red Cross Society, Gazi Golam Mostafa, gave the party a
strong base in the city.

Presided over by the local commissioner Kamal Chowdhury, the meeting
was addressed by Mayor of Dhaka Mohammad Hanif, joint secretary of the

Forgot to mention that Gazi Golam was named affectionately by his own
friends as 'Kombol Chora'. He, as head of BDRCS, stole a large part of
the relief that the world community poured in for the needy people of
Bangladesh.
