Police Hope Shoe Leads to Jogger's Killer

Summary:
Montgomery County Police determined that the
man who attacked and killed Sue Wen Stottmeister,48,
of Rockville Maryland on January 24th this year was
wearing a pair of very large distinctive basketball
shoes ( size 15 Nike Air Max Uptempo shoes). Stottmeister
of 13700 block of Drake Drive was found semiconscious
lying in the snow about 50 feet off a popular hiker
biker trail about a quarter mile from the trail
entrance at Oriental Street and Dowlais Drive in
Rockville, Maryland. Stottmeister had struggled with
her assailant, who may have recieve bruises or
scratches as a result. Stottmeister was attacked
in the afternoon and was found later that day
but had been exposed to the cold for several hours.
Detectives are working with Nike representatives
to track down people have purchase the shoe
and they have alerted law enforcement agencies
nationwide of their search. Police ask anyone
with information to call Montgomery County Police's
major Crime division at 240-773-5070 or Crime
Solvers at 800-673-2777. The reward of for information
leading to an arrest and an indictment has now be
raised to $28,000.
