From the book, The Complete Book of Chinese Health and Healing by Daniel Reid.

The following are excerpts from this book with some of my personal hi-liting.
TV "In addition to the electromagnetic field generated by the power source,
television sets also emit X-rays that can penetrate 2-3 inches into the human
body....you must sit at least 42 inches away from the screen in order to
avoid exposure to dangerous fields. Those fields emit in ALL directions and
can easily penetrate WOOD and other solid materials, so be sure that no one
has a bed or desk placed against the opposite side of a wall where a
television is located."

PCs and VDTs "Personal computers and video display terminals have been linked
to a doubling in the rate of in miscarriages and a much higher than average
rate of BIRTH DEFECTS in women who operate them during prenancy. NON-PREGNANT
women also report a variety of disorders, including MENSTRUAL irregularities,
headaches, chronic fatigue and DEPRESSION."

"In summary, it has become abundantly clear that the simple
chemical-mechanistic view of human health upon which orthodox Western
medicine is based fails to account for vital factors: energy and energy
fields..."

all cathode-ray(CRT) tubes emit various forms of radiation (light, radio,
infra-red,ultra-violet and x-rays)
The CRT X-rays omissions are considered minor by most health officials. The front
of the CRT
is masked to virtually eliminate x-ray emssions. However, CRTs tend to emitt more
radiation from the
sides and rear than they do from the front. (PC magazine and Consumer Reports
have done
feature stories on PC display CRT radiation and the PC CRT MPR II standards
several years ago).
AFAIK, The person most endangered from CRT radiation emisssions is the electronic
technician
who is servicing them. The early reports on the effects of CRTs on pregnant
women were
discredited /dismissed by researchers because the methodology used was considered
inadequate
( for example, health / clinical studies required a double blind review and
analysis ).

I expect that in the future PC display CRT screens will be replaced by LCD
displays
which donot pose any radiation emissions danger. However,
the current price of PC LCD displays is enough to make one depressed....
