according to an article in the San Jose Mercury News (closest thing to a
newspaper in all northern california!), Tiger is: [from his mother side]
1/4 chinese, 1/4 thai, [from his father's side] 1/4 black, 1/8 cherokee,
& 1/8 scottish.

another person who could be used, though not terribly famous (at least in
the US), is Miki Berenyi, lead singer/rhythm
guitarist/writes-half-the-songs with Lush, who's mother is Japanese.
written a couple songs about her familial relations -- "Light from a Dead
Star" of _Split_ being the best of them.

ex-pitcher for the oakland a's. i think he's half-hawaiian though
(ethnically hawaiian), not chinese. i think he's now starting a career as
a minor league instructor for the a's, but i'm not sure. could also
mention atlee hammaker, who was with the whitesox last season; his mum's
japanese.

Hmm... that's interesting... never knew that... but one question... if Eddie
Van Halen is half-Japanese, does that mean that Alex Van Halen is also half
Japanese? I always thought that he looked somewhat Asian, but was never
too sure about that...

Try again loser. Man, you and Peter KrANG are the two unfunniest
neo conservative geek losers posting. C'mon! make a funny already!
Yuck Yuck.

Uh, for a loser who posted Rushton's racial deterministic research
and argument, this is rather hypocritical and retarded of you.
On one hand, you argue that conservatives who believe in
racial determinism for intelligence etc. are right and posted
Rushton's stats to prove this point and now, you're pissed
that some Asian Americans are simply asking who might
have asian blood that are famous or notable.

This makes me laugh cause you neocons are so uptight and retarded.
For the longest time, Arthur Hu, you lame geek , was posting
about race deciding intellect and other attributes. Now, you're
pissed that some asians are using YOUR same argument.

What is your point? That you're inferior because of your race?
You have a micropenis and you're an egghead?
I mean if you're so freakin' smart then why are you some
lowly C++ porgrammer posting out of a MS account?
Then your web page has a statement seeking employment.
If you're so damn brilliant, you'd come up with
the world wide web or some web browser to beat netscape.
All you are and will be is a lowly loser named Arthur Hu.

Sorry if I missed most of this thread...can someone e-mail the answers
people came up with?

I could think of the golfer Tiger Woods, who is part Thai, part Chinese, and
part African American. The media hyped him as both one of golf's great
young stars as well as one of the few blacks in the sport. He once was
quoted as checking the Asian American "box", however.

I have read through this post for some time...is there any famous
asian/americans that aren't mixed?
I don't mean to deny people with mixed blood their ethnicity, but it just
interesting to see that people seemed to mention people who are mixed.

I think the post was concentrating on "famous folks you didn't know were
Asian". So if they were not mixed-blood but full-blooded then most people
would already guess that they were Asian.

Therefore its the mixed blooded Asian/____ celebrities that are
mentioned.

Read the title...it implies "folks you didn't KNOW were
asian"

If they were famous and looked full-blooded asian...then we
would know they were asian wouldn't we???

I think it's rad that white people always try to go back to phallic symbols
for everything. In high school, I alwys remember the white males saying
things like, "Yeah, that is as big as my dick...OOhhhh!"

Why is this? I think that a large portion, but not all, of whites are very
insecure. They always try to bring false statements on other races and
peoples so that they can boost their visibly fragile ego. Come on, mr.
Happyface, be open about your small John Thomas. Hey, whites may have been
conquering people for a long time, and that is just to cover up their own
inadequecies.

bye, Happy.

Does anybody know what happened to her?
