Mexican customs are also USofAmerican customs and they
were not brought over by immigrants. Hmm, how could that be you say??
Well it happened like this:

What is now the USofAmerican southwest (including California)
WAS in fact Mexico, this includes the custom of speaking the Spanish
language. Really! es verdad! One could say that Mexicans
R us and us R Mexicans, eh :)

Many Americans of Mexican ancestry and those "Mexicans"
whos ancestors were in California and the southwest
at the time of 1848 refer to themselves as "Mexican".
Remember that the southwest/California was Mexico and continue
the Mexican customs through today. I am a descendant of
Mexicans who were in the southwest 1848.

All U.S. territorial documents in the southwest are
also in the Spanish language.

It must be embarrassing to admit that.

Mexicans couldn't read and write at the time, and most still can't. I
guess the people of Spain wrote and signed those documents. You should
claim them as your ancestors.

Many if not most Americans of Mexican heritage
"Hispanics" have descriminated against or worse since 1848

While my great grand parents and grandparents were
fluent in Spanish (their letters to one another and
friends were in Spanish), they spoke English in front
of their children but continued the Spanish language
when the children were not near. Children as near as
20-40 years ago in the southwest (excluding most of New Mexico)
were rididuled for speaking Spanish by their teachers (still happens)
in
school, whipped by teachers, made to wear "dunce" pointy hats
in school, beaten at the direction of teachers and other
authority figures, death at the hands of Klan types occured
when any Spanish was spoken, ect ect.

So in answer to your question, why do I write English
instead of Spanish. Because I don't know how to write
Spanish to be understood.

Going back to the descrimination Americans of Mexican
heritage have faced, here are a few other examples.

There was a time when USof Americans and only Americans
of Mexican and "Hispanic" heritage were "rounded
up" in the southwest and left to die at the border.
Today we are protected to a point, however there are
still the Klan type Arpaios who harrass and round up
"Hispanics" for looking a certain way, have Spanish surnames
or speak Spanish.

Anti "Hispanics" of any sort whether
Mexican, Spanish, ect are targeted as seen on api.
I suppose not all are Klan types, but those who want
to divert attention from other major issues.

I have documentation that the Mexicans who were in
the southwest during the 1848 era could read and write,
the letters to one another were in the Spanish language.

Mexicans and USofAmerican citizens signed the documents.

Some (most) of my ancestors are from Mexico,
they crossed back and forth from the south of
"Mexico" to what are now the southwestern USofA states
for centuries upon centuries.

Yes way!

A USofAmerican of Mexican Heritage/ancestry.

who's Mexican ancestors in the "USofA" southwest
1848 believed that our custom of speaking Spanish
would be honored by our new government the USofA.
Since then over 75% of the private land was again
stolen by interlopers backed up by the U.S. Government.
We have been in a stuggle and fighting in a peaceful manner
for the right to speak the Spanish language in everyday living, in
our schools, in the USofA Gov, State, Country and City
Governments, ect.

They have murdered our ancestors, grandparents, they
have whipped our children to try and beat their language
out of them, but we continue on with the struggle. Until the
USofAmerican
Governments adhere to what is rightfully ours, i.e. the language
promised for one.

Well, those "Klan" people are rednecks and white-trash people without
good education given they lived a promiscuos way of live in their
early years. They are unable to give good things, simply because they
do not have them; so, Repo, they give the only thing they can: hate
and ignorance.

Of course, they are scare of other languages. Poor people!

They 'thought' their children would not
face the same descrimination and worse if they
could not speak Spanish But they were
wrong. We continued to be descriminated against
even if we didn't speak Spanish. We have Spanish
names; so what did some do? They 'anglicized' their
first and last names. Much confusion during family
get togethers; same blood lines but different last names.
One becomes'anglo' due to the name change and the others 'Hispanic'.

There's alot more 'Hispanics' in the USofA than the
Census shows and this is due to past and present fear
of continued descrimination.

Teach and Speak the Spanish language in the USofA,
it is the promise from leaders of the USofA to do so,
lets hold them to it.
