Follow these steps carefully as the site is not Unix operated system:
(1) login as a:
userid: nonymous
password: guest
(2) Change the directory by typing:
cd 'kalmub'
*** You MUST type the single quotation, no space, before and after the word
kalmub ***
(3) Read the file README first to know what pictures you may
ftp/download. All the information you need to know about the files such as
name, size, and comprehensive yet brief description, alphabitically
sorted out, of each file.
I am sure that you'll like most of these pictures, however, I
would like you to seek a permission before using any of these files
publically; E-Mail me a note before attempting to do so.
I would like also to hear from you about these files...
Thank you...

Dear all:
I apologize for the inconvenience with downloading the
Arabic/Islamic pictures from my diretcory as we have had a few problems
with the system today.
Allow me to backup and do some changes to the FTPing instructions I gave
yesterday.
The site is: ohstmvsa.acs.ohio-state.edu
login> anonymous
passowrd> guest
***** Here you must change to my own directory which is
'kalmub.ftp'
instead of the previous one, 'kalmub'
But do NOT forget to type the single quotation character before
and after the work 'kalmub.ftp' otherwise you won't access my directory
because the system used where my files are saved is not UNIX.
Agaian, my apologies to all brothers and sisters attempted
downloading my files and couldn't do so this morning.
Please, read the file README.TXT before you download any file,
just to get a background info on every file I worked on such as: name,
size, description and the pupose for selecting that particular image.

Again, the directory you should change to is 'kalmub.ftp' and NOT 'kalmub'

Thank you very much for your patience...

Thank you very much, Alex... The reason bedhind giving these names
to the files on my directory is explained in my README.TXT file. I don't
know why you have had a problem with that particular file, although it
works fine with most of the people I talked to over the Internet.
You have to change the transfer mode to ascii and NOT binary when
downlaoding the .TXT file. This file README.TXT is the key to unlcok the
info for all files on my directory. Thank you and keep in touch with my
directory as I 'll always update the files, add more, delete and edit them.
I'll be able to announce about the uploading of new files on this
newsgroup, so you have to check my directory out, especially README.TXT,
every now and then.
Ma'salaama...
Many thanks for these and anything else you might place on ftp.
The "bedroom" picture seems to be seriously misnamed.
The README.TXT was not readable [at least to me]. Is there a special
procedure to follow to access it?
Congratulations.
alex

did you remember to type 'binary' first? The only file that seems to get
mangled is FTP.README.TXT.
Khalid, I'mnot quite sure what the terms on which you making theses files
available. Is it ok to upload them to another site or not?

Zeyd:
The purpose is to share this valuable Islamic/Arabic fine-art work
with every one. The Internet is an open library for all people. Before I
work on these files there were almost none worth mentioning that deals
specifically and extensively with this type of work.
I got many requests from different people requesting uploading
these files on other site(s)... My response is absolutely NO... Since they
are available on the site I chose in my directory, why put them on other
server(s). Besides, these files are one part of my research and project at
OSU and I wouldn't be happy to know that my work is uploaded on other
server(s). Please, do NOT upload any of these files on any server. You are
more than welcome to view them on your own but not to use them on a public
site.
You can't imagine the time I have devoted to get such a work with
that high quality on that server. If you were me, I am sure you wouldn't be
happy to see other people abusing your work.
BTW the directory you should change to is: 'kalmub.ftp' and NOT 'kalmub'.
Thank you...

the subject.

I understand your position, but I wish to point out that there is NOTHING
except conscience that stops people from uploading them where ever they
feel like it. You should include a copyright notice to explain your conditions.

There is no point in creating art unless other people can see it. I'm not
how wide distribution of your excellent work would be abuse of it, but it
is yours and you are free to do what you want with it.
>BTW the directory you should change to is: 'kalmub.ftp' and NOT 'kalmub'.
I already got them from kalmub.
