I said many times here and other forums that WEST DOESN'T HAVE even a
SINGLE RESPECTABLE VALUE or Character Trait.

Gem of a human being Caitlin Johnstone SPEAKS ABSOLUTE TRUTH.

She LIVES IN REALITY in most issues, unlike 99% westerners who live in a
DELUSIONAL FAKE REAILTY "Artificially Created" by the EVIL Western Govts
with PATHOLOGICAL LIES, CUNNING, DECEPTION etc.

The west doesn't value anything it claims to value. We crush
individuality, censor speech, brainwash with propaganda, imprison and
torture dissident journalists, tyrannize, terrorize, bomb, invade, rob,
oppress and exploit. "Western values" are nothing but a propaganda
construct. A giant jerk-off fantasy.

Caitlin Johnstone

It's still funny that the entire US-controlled world has been raging at
Russia all year for doing something the US does routinely.

In our fucked up civilization "individualism" increasingly means having
the freedom to express your uniqueness by choosing between hundreds of
makes and models of automobile while thinking the exact same thoughts as
everyone else about America, capitalism, and foreign policy. We are told
that the individual is prioritized in our society while being funneled
through various conformity manufacturing plants like school and mass media
consumption. Real individuality is stomped out and replaced with
prostheses of mindless consumption and partisan thought.

Real individualism would encourage radical individuality and divergence
from orthodoxies. The so-called liberal democracies of the western world
do the exact opposite, hammering us into authorized power-serving
perspectives and herding us into mainstream partisan echo chambers.

"I'm sure glad I don't live in an oppressive homogeneous nation like China
where individuality is not allowed," said every westerner in unison while
staring at their programming screens.

My god I hate The Atlantic so fucking much.

People would never consciously tolerate a competition where the stakes are
life and death in modern times, but all our systems for providing basic
needs are based on this. Capitalism is a ubiquitous systemic gladiator
combat sport which we are all forced to play.

I get called a communist a lot, which I'm fine with, but really I think
I'm just whatever people want to call someone who supports shoving all
systems to the left until we've created a healthy world where everyone has
enough and we all collaborate with each other and with our ecosystem for
the good of everybody. I'll answer to communist if you like though.

Landlords get upset when you talk about the fraudulent nature of their
income because they know they're pulling a fast one. Charging someone to
keep your investment property free from vermin, vandals and the decay of
disuse while it gains in value is a double-dipping scam.

Property managers advise owners to get a property tenanted as quickly as
possible if they don't intend to sell right away because if they're not
inhabited they quickly turn into a useless scrap heap. They charge people
for this privilege while exploiting a human need. Then they turn around
and sell their investment for a tidy profit, after charging you to look
after it (and often to pay off their mortgage for them). This is an
immoral double-dipping scam.

If capitalism was really about "voluntary transactions" capitalists
wouldn't work constantly to crush unions and destroy the labor movement.

If your "non-aggression principle" doesn't address the coercive systems
which force workers to sell their labor at minimal prices to pay rent to
land hoarders who artificially inflate housing costs, then it's not a non-
aggression principle, it's a selective aggression principle.

Every few months antiwar US libertarians collectively re-learn that I'm a
leftist with strong anti-capitalist opinions and react catastrophically
and then immediately forget it and have to repeat the lesson a few months
later.

It's not actually a problem to agree with someone about some things and
disagree with them about others. Like it's not even something you need to
do something about. It's just being a normal person. It's not a big deal
and it's weird that it so often gets treated like one. Some American
libertarians are brilliant critics of the imperial war machine, and I
learn a lot from them. It's just important that we not condition that
mutual respect regarding that issue on a demand that the other accommodate
our full ideology.

I've thought a lot about this over the years and that's something I keep
coming back to: opposing war together cannot include demands that those
who disagree with us about economic policy or whatever remain silent or
accept our position. That's not collaboration, it's domination.

That's why I get so frustrated when right-libertarians tell me "stick to
antiwar stuff." It's like fuck you, you know damn well you spend plenty of
time criticizing socialism and praising capitalism, and yet you want me to
be silent about my position on those issues? Fuck off. If you want to push
your entire ideology yet demand that I speak only about the parts of my
ideology you support, then you don't want an ally against the war machine,
you want a servant.

I've always gotten along fine with libertarians who are content to let me
be me while I let them be them and we both amplify each other's attacks on
the war machine. That works. What absolutely doesn't work is demanding
that the other party abandon who they are in the process.

I'm fine with people strongly and aggressively disagreeing with me, but as
soon as they start telling me to only say things they agree with and never
say things they disagree with I just shut down, because they're telling me
that they want an unequal, unwholesome relationship.

You're either willing to work across ideological lines against the war
machine or you're not. If you are, you have to accept the fact that those
ideological lines are there and not condition your cooperation on someone
never saying anything you disagree with. That doesn't work.

Weed the manipulators out of your life by noticing who spends a lot of
energy trying to influence the way you think about them, the way you think
about others, and the way you think about yourself. The latter are the
most dangerous. People who try to manipulate your ideas about yourself are
your enemy. Cut them right out.

Anyone who spends a lot of energy trying to control your narratives about
yourself is trying to control you. They're trying to imprison you in a
psychological cage of their making. It's important to extract their
tentacles from your mind by any means necessary.

If you start paying attention to this you'll find that it's not just
individuals who try to manipulate your understanding of yourself, but
institutions as well. Advertisers, propagandists, religious leaders —
they're all telling you who you are in various ways all the time:

"You don't matter."

"You're defective."

"You don't look right."

"You're here to work."

"You're here to consume."

"You must obey."

"You're worthless unless you're successful, and success means X, Y and Z."

"You're not intelligent enough to make up your mind about this subject for
yourself."

We're smashed with toxic messages like this all our lives. Maturity is
extracting all the narratives about you that were put into your mind by
others so that you can become your own author. It takes work, because a
lot of those narratives got in there a long time ago and now sit unnoticed
in our subconscious, pulling our strings from behind the scenes.

The worst thing you can do is let someone else be the author of your
story. Especially when the kinds of people most keen to do that are those
who don't have your best interests at heart. Generally speaking, the
people most eager to author your story for you will be the ones least
qualified to do so.

U.S. Empire Named Most Murderous Killing Machine In History
https://covertactionmagazine.com/2023/05/30/u-s-empire-named-most-
murderous-killing-machine-in-history/

New study finds U.S. responsible for nearly 300 million deaths—and counting

In September, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation—established by
a bipartisan act of Congress in 1993—opened the Victims of Communism
Museum in Washington, D.C., which aims to spotlight the plight of the
alleged 100 million victims of Communist ideology.

The 100 million figure was derived from the 1997 book The Black Book of
Communism, published by Harvard University Press, which was replete with
falsehoods. The book blamed communist governments for famines that
occurred on a more regular basis in capitalist countries and which had
resulted from environmental causes, like the Ukrainian famine of the 1930s
(holodomor).

If the political culture in the U.S. changes, someone might open a museum
dedicated to the victims of capitalism or the U.S. empire, whose death
toll would be much greater than 100 million.

A new book by David Michael Smith, Endless Holocausts: Mass Death in the
History of the United States Empire (New York: Monthly Review Press,
2023), estimated that the U.S. empire is responsible, or shares
responsibility, for close to 300 million deaths.

Smith writes that “the almost inconceivable loss of life in these endless
holocausts arguably makes this country [the United States] exceptional,
though in a strikingly different way than its apologists intend.”

The Indigenous Peoples’ Holocaust

Smith estimates that 13 million Indigenous people were killed in the
holocaust that resulted from the European colonization of North America.

Quoting from Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, author of An Indigenous People’s
History of the United States, Smith notes that the Indigenous nations of
the Western Hemisphere had “built great civilizations” prior to the
arrival of the white man whose “governments, commerce, arts and sciences,
agriculture, technologies, philosophies and institutions were intricately
developed,” and in which “human relations were more egalitarian than in
Europe.”

The European lust for wealth and dominance, however, led to mass death and
destruction.

Characteristic was the Pequot War in Massachusetts of 1636-1637 where,
Smith notes, the Puritan settlers recruited Native allies and formed the
first ranger forces to engage in “wilderness warfare,” where “colonial
officials began paying bounties for the scalps of Native men, women and
children.”

About 6,000 Wampanoag, Narragansett and Nipmuck were killed, and New
England’s Indigenous population declined from at least 70,000 in 1600 to
12,000 by the end of the 1600s.

African American Holocaust

The decline of the Indigenous population in the Western Hemisphere forced
the European colonizers of North America to begin importing captive people
from Africa to labor for them.

Smith estimates that approximately 25 million Africans were originally
captured, and 12.5 million of them died between capture and embarkation
from the slave ships that brought them to North America. Twenty million
more Africans are believed to have died in slave raids, raising the total
that died because of the transatlantic slave trade to 32.5 million.

Of those who survived the Middle Passage, many more died from diseases and
from beatings by their slave masters or by suicide. According to Smith,
almost 70% of those who survived the Middle Passage were no longer alive a
decade and a half later. Overall, he believes that 41.5 million may have
died of slavery.

During Reconstruction after the U.S. Civil War, freed slaves died from
lynching, and in prison after the imposition of Black Codes. They were
also killed by white mobs in race massacres—famously in Tulsa, Oklahoma,
where Black Wall Street was burned to the ground.

Smith estimates that, between the years 2000 and 2014, another one million
excess deaths occurred among Blacks because of the racist police and
criminal justice system and poor living conditions in the “ghetto.”
The Workers’ Holocaust

Besides Native and Black Americans, vast numbers of laborers from diverse
national backgrounds—who have generated unprecedented wealth for the
capitalist class—have experienced harsh and deadly forms of exploitation
in the United States.

Approximately 35,000 workers died on the job annually between 1880 and 1900
—700,000 for those two decades alone as Congress refused to pass basic
regulations to protect workers’ rights.

The Cleveland Citizen wrote that, during the Gilded Age, the U.S. became
“an industrial slaughterhouse.” When workers rose up to protest poor
conditions in a Rockefeller-owned mine in Ludlow, Colorado, in 1914,
National Guard troops killed 66 men, women and children who were
supporting the strike.
