here again you are wrong, your completely brainwashed if you think what
you stated is true. There are white people killed by blax every dayand
you dont hear a thing about it. Not too long ago in my city there was a
white kid shot to death by a blackman during a traffic dispute, the
nigger claimed he was in fear for his life however there were no WEAPONS
found on the white 19 yr old boy. The local news mentioned it one night
and i have heard nothing about it since. Awhile before that, an off duty
black officer walked into a white owned motorcycle shop and started
shooting the patrons. He was suspended, WITH pay, until the
investigation was complete. I have heard nothing of it since. Awhile
before that 4 WHITE police officers were suspended, WITHOUT PAY, for an
incident where they were ALLEGED to have beat a nigger at a traffic
stop. There was one other witness, a black woman, who was also in the
car. The male negroid had no marks on his body, and there were no
injuries to his person. Both police officers have since left the state.
You stupid sheep keep trying to convince yourself of the stability of
the situation. You just keep trying to beleive that the majority of the
black population is not trying to get over on the system and the other
races. You just keep beleiving that they are your friends... sure, that
martin guy is sooo funny. love those williams brothers! surely good ole'
bill cosby wouldnt be guilty of any moral injustice? You just keep your
head buried in the sand, assholes high, and PRAY, to whatever god you
blindly worship, that im am WRONG.
Joe,
In no way am I marginalizing the heinous nature of this crime. The brutal
nature of the killing (dousing with gasoline and burning and beheading)
certainly make such a killing more interesting for the media (let's face
it, brutality sells), and the fact that the murder may have had a racial
element - given that the perpetrators were white and the victim black
(though the primary motive appears drug related) - also boosts its media
appeal. Apparently, given the coverage in at least the Times', CNN, and
BET some non-local media decided to run the story for one or more of these
reasons. But whose to say what amount of non-local media coverage is
appropriate? Where do you come off on recklessly lambasting their
coverage on the grounds of racial bias, given the circumstances?
Now knowing more about the facts, I'm particularly agitated by your snide
accusation that "if the color of killers and victims were turned around,
we all know what the difference in coverage would be..." NO, YOU DON'T
KNOW! As you yourself like to say, stick to the facts and not reckless
speculation. As I've already alluded, the lack of an always-stimulating
racial element (if the victim were white), would have lessened the stories
appeal to the non-local media. Certainly, at least because race adds the
question of how a small, racially-mixed community is dealing with the
murder (the Time's article already picked-up on this). No one can say for
sure whether non-local coverage would've been any less, but would this
have made the crime any less heinous? As it was, how can you say the
media is any less willing to cover white criminals? I realize that years
in DC causes many blacks to develop an insecure pang every time they see
yet another accused black male in the media, but don't assume the vast
majority of whites (including newspaper editors) suffer such an
affliction. Do you truly think the Washington Post shied away from
covering these punks because they were white? Just the other day, you ran
an informative segment on how to avoid fraud from home-improvement
contractors after the Post ran a front page article on how some clowns in
Virginia recently scammed an elderly DC woman out of $300,000. Right
there on page two are not one, but four, large pictures of some of these
white scumbags. I feel a pang for EVERY criminal I read about - a pang of
revulsion for the harm they do to themselves and our communities.
I often applaud you in focusing attention on issues not under the
spotlight, but spotlight or not, I trust the people of this rural Virginia
town (2/3 white, 1/3 black) will see that justice is served in this
murder, regardless, and without the racial theatrics all too common in DC.
For these punks to deal drugs and then have the audacity to brutally burn
a man and chop his head off for informing the police truly deserves the
severest of penalties. I've read and heard that the main culprit is
claiming he was so out of it on anti-anxiety drugs and alcohol that he
didn't no what he was doing (he was heavily intoxicated). I trust that
this won't cause the jury much hesitation. No excuses due to state of
mind. No excuses about upbringing or societal pressure. Just punishment
by death or life in prison w/o parole. We should all be reading about it
in the Washington Post.

You're 100% correct. This is the same ol' same ol' where I live. If a
white person is murdered, it's FRONT PAGE news for weeks, months and
years. The mainstream media follows the story from arrest to conviction
to sentencing. This is so even if the murder didn't occur in the city.
On the other hand, when a Black person is killed, you'll usually have to
look between pages 40 and 60 to find a one or two sentence paragraph about
it. That is the complete coverage of the killing right there. No follow
up to see if the murder has been solved or if there is an active police
investigation to look for the murderer.
