Victims Bludgeoned and Stabbed Repeatedly

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (APBnews.com) -- Police charged a 23-year-old
employee of Burger King today with the murder of two co-workers whose
severely bludgeoned bodies were found in the locked restaurant.
Investigators said that Tory Nocho killed the restaurant's assistant
manager, Lavonda Kay Holderby, 41, and her 16-year-old niece,
Donna Holderby, some time after he arrived for work Sunday morning.
"He told us the assistant manager smart-mouthed him," Detective Mike
Mathis said.
Nocho, the only other employee working at the restaurant at the time of
the killings, was brought in for questioning Sunday night. He was being
held without bond at Hamilton County Jail today after being charged
with two counts of first-degree murder, according to the Hamilton
County District Attorney's Office.
Shift began at 6 a.m.
Police still are working on a timeline for the events that occurred at
the Burger King on Sunday, but said the two women were attacked
sometime after 6 a.m. when the three employees arrived for their
shifts. They said the assaults may have continued for a prolonged
period of time.
"It appeared they did occur over a period of time, because the
assistant manager moved about the store before getting to the place
where she died," said Mathis.
Lavonda Holderby's body was found behind the counter. Donna Holderby,
who had started working at Burger King only a few months ago, was
killed in the freezer where her body was found, police said. Both
victims were severely beaten, police said.
By 8:30 a.m., as Nocho struggled to try to lock the doors, customers
began entering the store. They told investigators they were waiting to
be served when a male employee appeared at the counter to tell them the
store was closed. They described someone resembling the suspect.
Manager finds store closed
"He told them the store was experiencing a problem and to come back,"
Mathis said. "Later he turned the lights out and told them there was a
power outage. He was having a hard time getting the doors locked."
The afternoon manager arrived at 3 p.m. and became suspicious after
finding the doors locked. She called police, who discovered the bodies.
Lavonda Holderby's car was found several miles away and cash was
missing from the store, police said.
Police said the suspect's description of what prompted the attack made
little sense. According to investigators, Nocho said he became angry
when Lavonda Holderby insulted him and that the robbery and car theft
were an afterthought.
"But to do this brutal of a murder because someone said something is
out of the ordinary. There had to be something else," Mathis said.
Nocho had no prior arrests in Chattanooga, police said.
Victims had many wounds
The Hamilton County medical examiner is conducting autopsies on the
victims and has yet to rule on a cause of death. Both victims had
numerous stab wounds and blunt-force trauma wounds from at least four
instruments, police said.
"There were multiple instruments and multiple trauma with various
instruments," said Mathis. "It took the medical examiner 3 1/2 hours to
chart the injuries [on Lavonda Holderby]. It usually takes them three
hours to complete the whole autopsy. They haven't even gotten to the
second victim."
Police said neither of the victims appeared to have been sexually
assaulted.
Authorities are checking videotape from the store's surveillance
cameras to determine if any part of the incident was captured on film.
Ameriking, the parent company of Burger King, said it is creating a
trust fund to help the families of the two slain employees.

As usual. You have some fuc.ed up info. I don't know who Amy is but none
of this info is in Chattanooga's news paper. I didn't see where you had the
article on the the man that killed his ex wife's boyfriend and then shot his
own @$$ up. As a matter of fact there have been a couple of shootings out
in the sticks in the last month or so by the good ole boys. Whats up with
that? Did you not see this or are you just printing half truth here?

Man Charged With Murdering 2-Co-workers

Chattanooga police arrested a 23-year-old Burger King employee early
Monday morning and charged him with murdering two of his co-workers.
Tory Nelson Nocho was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in
the Sunday morning beating deaths of 16-year-old Donna Mae Holderby and
her aunt, 41-year-old Lavonda Kay Holderby, at the 6925 Lee Highway
restaurant.
The suspect is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on $2,020,000
bond, $1 million for each slaying and $20,000 for an outstanding
warrant on a theft charge.
"He's made a statement to us, but I'm not entirely sure everything he
told us is the truth," Major Crimes Detective Mike Mathis said.

2 Slain at Fast Food Restaurant

Two female employees of a fast food restaurant near Hamilton Place were
found slain Sunday, and police were questioning a third employee.
The two women, Lavonda Kay Holderby, 41, the assistant manager, and her
16-year-old niece, Donna Mae Holderby, were discovered inside the
Burger King at 6925 Lee Highway.
Police said the two women had "been beaten and assaulted in other ways."
They were not saying who the third employee is, only that he had been
apprehended and was being questioned.
