This may be old news to some, but I just found out today and I didn't
see anything posted so I thought I would by way of a memorium. For
those of you who don't recognize her name, Michelle played Myra, Irkel's
girlfriend on Family Matters. According to reports, she died on the
22nd of this month from stomach cancer.

Godspeed to her family and friends and may she rest in peace.

Her passing was a shock. More recently, she has been on the day time soap, "The
Young & The Restless". Michelle had a wonderful voice.
Respectfully, D.

The is a cover story about her in this weeks "Star". According to it, she
refused chemotherapy because she wanted very much to be able to have
children. People will laugh, but I've found that the stories in the Star
and Enquirer are usually true. You see them there one week, then next week
in the New York Times, or Boston Globe.

I sincerely hope that what you read in the Star newspaper is wrong. Michelle
refused treatment because she wanted children. Was she aware of her options?
Many women faced with this same issue have opted to have their eggs harvested
from their ovaries and frozen. Years later these eggs can be thawed and used
sucessfully to produce normal children. Granted, this is not the preferred
way to reproduce, but it beats loosing your life and having no child bearing
options.
