I'm a message-posting fool today! I was just wondering what kind of
experiences people have had using real flowers on their headpieces. I
don't even know if this can be done! I'm making my own veil (what have I
gotten myself into?!) and was wondering if the florist could make some
kind of flowery headpiece thing (very simple, just a few roses) that I
could then attach veiling to. Is this a hideous idea? Is it a bad idea
since I wouldn't get to see it until the last minute (because of the real
flowers?
Thanks for ANY suggestions!

I am planning on doing the same thing. I'm making the tulle part of the
veil to fasten onto a clip that my florist will make. My florist had
lots of ideas and they were all REALLY pretty, now I just have to
decide. Talk to your florist, and see what they can do. A friend of
mine did this, and it was really pretty, and they somehow made the
flowers keep from falling off.

I want to do the same thing also. Could you post how yours turns out?
I'm not getting married until October 1997 so I have time to think about
this. I know I'd like to try to make my own headpiece and somehow have
some flowers in my hair (Brian's request actually). I think this sounds
like a great idea!

Our florist did this and it turned out great!

We gave him the headband, a very simple one that cost I think $3.00 and was
an ivory that matched the dress. He wrapped it in some sort of green wire
with little fake leaves, attached a long piece of tulle, and wove in
roses. It looked *great*, simple but elegant, and of course it was a
perfect match to the bouquet!

I am using roses set together on a barrette made that morning! The
barrette will be attached to the veil.
