An idea....
We just photographed a wedding which had a three level cake, but
instead of columns or other traditional spacers, they used terrariums
(sp).
Quite nice.

Try the old standby...Martha Stewart. Her Wedding books have pictures of
different cakes, as do her 2 Wedding magazine issues.
Good luck!
Hope this helps! Good luck!

If you go into a bakery supply store, you will find books for sale with
pictures and instructions for making wedding cakes. The most popular ones
come from Welton, but the shop where my cake is being made had a few
others. It was very helpful looking through the books and knowing that my
baker had tried most of them. She was even very willing to point out that
one of the cakes in the book just always seems to give her a big problem.
Well, we didn't choose that one, but we did find a beautiful 7-tier
wedding cake for our Cake & Punch Church reception, and a beautiful 4-tier
cake for our Dinner Dance. She even went out of her way to order a
special Personalized Crystal Heart Cake Top for me....and paid for it,
because I didn't have the money handy. She just added it to the final
cost and told me we had until the week before the wedding to settle up.
One thing that I have found.....smaller shops have much nicer people
working in them.
Hope this helps,
Stephanie
You can find a Wilton catalog at many craft stores and possibly some
gormet shops...they probably won't have the wedding cake catalog but you
can order it through Wilton's regular cake yearbook.
Good Luck!

Basically, the local freebies that advertise specific vendors usually
have good pictures.

Ann - This is the wedding cake book I emailed you about, that I saw in
the Rexcraft invitation catalog. It is called "A Treasury of Wilton
Wedding Cakes", and says it is full-color, 96 pages, w/step-by-step
preparation instructions for each design. They list it at $8.95. The
Rexcraft number is 1-800-635-3898. You might be able to find this (or
something like it) in the library, too.
best wishes,
Emily
