I have been trying to find a wedding cake for our beach wedding. I have seen
some with seashells(real or frosting - I'm not sure) but now can not find a
picture anywhere. I need to send a picture to my wedding coordinator (via
email) and was hoping someone would know a website that has a picture of a
cake like this. Any help I can get would be very appreciated! Thank you!
Stephanie

I think I saw a seashell wedding cake in the book by Colette Peters. I took
it out from the library last year but never bought the book so I don't have
it in front of me. I figured I would just take out the book again when I
need it, but the cakes she designs are stunning and I probably should buy
it to add to my "frequently read, but hardly used" cookbook shelf !!!

If you can't find it at the library, try one of the larger book stores like
Borders or Barnes and Noble.

BTW, I fell in love with the "Faberge topiary cake" !!!

A friend had a cake like this using white chocolate shells. The used
cchocolate shells for their favors also, wrapped in the same color
celophane as the bridesmaid dresses.

Check in the new Martha Stewart Wedding magazine. Also, gail watson cakes is
the cake maker and she has a web site listed in the magazine. I am having a
seashell cake made and there will be real shells on it, brown sugar to
represent sand, and she will set up the cake on a net-like material. I am
making white chocolate shells as favors...easy to make and very inexpensive.
Contact me if you'd like more seashell info. Harl...@aol.com

I photographed a wedding a couple of weeks ago. the bride chose a beautiful
cream colored, rolled fondonte cake, with cream colored white chocolate
seashells.

I have a picture scanned, if you would like me to email it to you, please email
me.

Good Luck!

The summer/fall 1998 Martha Stewart magazine wedding issue has a small
picture of one on page 287. It may also be on her website.
