Here's a stupid question - what's the normal age of people beginning study
for a Bachelor's degree?

I'll be exactly 20 when I begin my university studies, due to the fact that
I studied Cambridge A Levels at a college for 2 years, and unfortunately
most US Universities give limited recognition to A Levels graduates.

well i'm starting my sophomore year & i'm 22. Some people enter a 4 year
school straight out of hs, but many people attend a 2 year college
and/or work first (like myself, so i think age varies greatly.

The average age of freshman or students differs dramatically depending on
which college you attend. Many students start right out of high school and
will be somewhere between 17 and 19. Many wait one or more years, and then
some re-entry students can be any age. At 20 you won't likely be "old".

Most people coming from my state enter college at 18. This happens because
where I'm from, the state requires you to be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1
to enter kindergarden in a public school. Other states have January 1 as the
deadline. It varies. Not to mention private schools which can have their own
rules. I would say a majority of incoming freshmen are 18. Some are 19+, a few
are 17 soon to turn be 18.

)I was 47 when I started mine : I'm sometimes surprised at the number of
returning students on campus. I met one man who'd just started his
doctoral, who was in his 70's!

Well, I just finished mine last May, at the tender age of 29. :)
