NYU, Columbia, U.Mass Amherst, Tufts, BU, etc. Most large universities will
have decent art and business programs. The question is how sure she is and
much she wants to focus on one or the other (how good should they be), whether
she is considering graduate school for an MBA (ie, how important is the
undergrad business program if an MBA is the real focus), and whether she can
get a decent art education while being a major in another department (some
schools limit access for non-majors, so ask the college amdissions staff how
they handle art for non-art majors).
Note: Columbia does not have an undergraduate business major.
It may be possible to get a decent background in business, but it's probably
not going to interest anyone seeking to study business administration.

She would prefer attend a school near either NY City or Boston. She is now
Yes, that's a school that takes its pre-med program seriously. On the
other hand all the studio art materials are free, even to auditors!
What a deal.
It's also a good example of distance learning. You can attend all your
N.Y.C. classes without leaving an L.A. soundstage.

NYU Stern has one of the better undergraduate business administration
program and the NYU art school is a really good one as well. Other
school in that domain would be UPenn.

I agree whole heartedly with most of the posts above. I would be wary about NYU
simply because from my standpoint it's awful hard to crosspollinate across
schools like that, especially when you're in Stern. The original poster would
be well advised to contact Stern and see how many credits can be taken at the
School of Arts and Sciences or School of Education (where the Fine Arts
programs are).

Hi Renee, your daughter likes "art" in the sense that she likes to study
art in the "academic" sense, the Penn might be a place for her.
If she likes to perform and create, stay clear from Penn. Wharton tends
to suck everyone in and brainwash them. "Art" here is not
visual/performing art... it is very academic. Neither is music or
drama. Stay clear. Music & drama here is for studying, but there is no
performing outlet or opportunities. I don't know about visual art in the
fine arts sense though. Some people here are into that, but not to
many. Wharton has artificially induces a crazy sense of anxiety in
everyone in that if you don't do investment banking/consulting you're
going to be worthless. It's hard to be shielded from that. I would hate
for your daughter to lose her art talents and interest in pursuit of
capitalist gains.
peace.
