Hi everyone, greetings, salutations, squishy tit hugs, or whatever,

When I was at the march with my sweetie, she told me that she had seen a
booth, or other evidence of a group for LesBiGay Engineers.
Unfortunately, she did not get a flyer, address, or even a name of this
organization. So I'm asking, pleading, begging.... have any of you
heard of it? A reference would be greatly appreciated.

ciao, babies,
stephanie

There is a group in Dallas called DAGLES (Dallas Area Gay & Lesbian
Engineers & Scientists). I believe it is a chapter of a national
organization. There is one in Houston, too. I went to a meeting
a couple of years ago and was not impressed with the Dallas agenda,
but was told the Houston one was much more serious. That is the
best I can do for you.

In your immediate area there is High Tech Gays in San Jose (they are
in the phonebook) and in LA there is LAGLS (LA Gay and Lesbian
Scientists... but have a lots of engineer dudes and dudettes). Also,
LAGLS is associated with the National Organization of Gay and Lesbian
Scientists. We, NOGLSTP, have an email mailing list refelctor (you
send in mail and it gets forwarded to everyone on the list) which can
be subscribed to by emailing "noglstp...@elroy.jpl.nasa.gov".
NOGLSTP's address is P.O. Box 91803; Pasadena, CA 91109;
818-791-7689. Also, look for our esteemed genetics researcher of a
chairperson (Rochelle Diamond) quoted in SCIENCE and various other
magazines with gay genetics topics of recent months. CATALYST is a
lesbian scientist/techie group in the Pasadena area and they have some
LAGLS folks as well.

Houston had a group, but I was unable to reach them last year. DC has
a group, and I think the Triangle area has a group (seems appropriate
:-). Also, OUT magazine ran a nice article from Michael Sig's Book on
Queer in Silicon Valley... they featured a few names/faces/addresses.

I assume since you're posting from Stanford, that you're looking for
SF Bay Area groups. Try High Tech Gays. They meet at the Billy DeFrank
center once a month (first Sunday evening of the month?). You can call
the DeFrank Center for more info. Don't have their phone number handy
but they're in San Jose, so 408-555-1212 will get you to the right directory
assistance.

For some reason, I find that phrase exceedingly entertaining.

I can't quite figure out why, though..... ;-{)##]

Due to the nature of Huntsville, our professionals group is about 80-90%
engineers and scientists. So add GALOP of Huntsville, AL to the list

Hmmm... Could this be Digital Queers? I don't have their address, but
they're the people who have the great T-shirts that say, "We're here! We're
queer! We've got email!"

Is this a FAQ on either soc.motss or soc.bi? Should it be?
Anyway, I've seen a number of responses and I hope someone is
collecting these and can post a summary and/or drop them into
an appropriate FAQ. (Even if it has to be it's own seperate one.)

At least one of the email addresses for Digital Queers is

d...@yes.com

They've got at least one more, but I don't remember it.

It really is a great shirt. Evidently, me and my DQ t-shirt appeared
in IN after Rhode Island gay pride, but I never saw it.

Don't blame/praise me; it's STella's phrase. I just like it a lot.

Thanks to everyone who either sent mail or posted on this subject. I
have saved all responses and will try to get a cleaned up version made
up in a week or so. At the moment, I am a bit swamped with other stuff.

thanks again,
stephanie
