I see that Google Groups, which has been the biggest source of spam on
Usenet in recent years, is due to cease receiving and feeding NNTP in
February.

Does this mean that the Eternal September will finally come to an end?

No, you will still be able to access Usenet newsgroups
using a newsreader such as Agent on Windows, Hogwasher
on Mac, or the free Thunderbird on Windows, Mac, and Linux,
accessing a newsserver, such as the Eternal September
newsserver, and the advantage is that there won’t be any
flood of spam from Google Groups.

You don't actually understand what Usenet's Eternal September refers to,
do you?
