Some things to concern us regarding the speed debate:
1. Questions
2. Publicity
3. Form of event
1. We'll need to write, say, 10 questions for debate; which may or may
not be used. There seems to be a consensus that they should be
thoughtful and not merely an obvious promotion of our agenda, however
tempting. So one suggestion was something like: Do people deserve
their leaders? Given that the event will be backed by amnesty and gblt
at least one relevant question will need to be in there for each of
those dimensions, which do of course intersect. Suggestions please!
2. I am happy to help design a poster. Could someone volunteer either
to do it with me or on their own if preferred? What's the tagline?
3. Two suggestions so far: tables for two/four people with half
rotating a la speed dating, or a 'where do you stand' format where we
debate one question in groups. This will likely affect the way the
questions are posed.
Anything I've forgotten?
