I originally tried posting this as a reply. I tried twice and each time the posted reply was deleted. Don't know why. Strange. Anyway, below is my response.

It was surmised that updating to this latest release (1.6.3) would require correspondingly updating receivers. I have not found that to be necessary. This morning, I used the updated X20 TX to fly the Angela. All went well. There were no control issues. I successfully bench tested the Flip with the X20 as well. In addition, I had likewise updated the X-Lite TX and bench tested it with my Auri DLG. All controls worked fine.

Hey Ernie,
FWIW I’ve been on 1.6.2 for quite some time with no issues, only an occasional low RSSI warning only at BFP.  The noise floor there is terrible.

I’ve been flying with the Twin Pro Lite module for the last month or so, no more RSSI/VFR warnings anywhere.

This is with an X20s.

As I understand it 1.6.3 is compatible with Rx running ACCESS or ACCST but the tandem and twin Rx get an upgrade to 3.0.2. They have to be reset, reregistered and rebound just like a new Rx. Im in the process now with TD Receivers to take advantage of the LoRa protocol. First attempt is iffy with the protocol on/off options being grayed out on the Tx. ???

Dave, I’ve not tried the Tandem setup, but I’m very impressed with the Twin.  I goofed on my first setup, had the output power at 10mw rather than 100mw.  Flew F3L bird to stupid height and distance that way without a hiccup. -John

Being off by a power of ten is soooo unlike you, John!

John thats SWEET!  Good to know its working well!  I got everything upgraded and talking nicely but the on/off switches on the Tx under RF section are still grayed out???  I got the TW to replace my TD receivers and take advantage of 3 Rx protocols, 2 of which are long distance.  In particular when the R9 is set to 1000Mw it becomes adaptive!  It starts at 10Mw but If the RSSI degrades and VFR drop it increases the the power incrementally up to 1W!!!  Very useful to keep the "noise" down at the field to just what is needed.  I think I read one of the external modules (may be yours)  does the same thing with the 2.4 frequency.
