Will one fit inside the Flip fuse? You betcha. Gobs of room. The Spektrum Remote ID is clunky, too.

The field where I fly is not FRIA designated, although the Santa Fe club has permission to fly there. So, technically, we should be flying using Remote IDs there.

Just curious, how do you know the remote ID unit is working properly?

There's an android app called Drone Scanner that id's any RID module nearby. It also tracks the AC in the air and shows the pilots location on the ground --everything a drone hating 'Karen' needs to know. Next time you see me with my Pulsar, I can demonstrate.

I just assume the solid light on the unit indicates it is. Good enough for me.

Yes, Ernie
The solid light indicates the GPS and Bluetooth connections are good.  The android app (There are similar Apple apps, too) is what the 'Karens' will want to know.  The apps are useful, by the way, if you want to download and track your flight path later on Google Earth, or similar.
By the way, for all of us FrSky users, FrSky has an RID module that will broadcast your a/c position back to your tx. And it's half the price of the Spektrum module.  I've ordered one from Aloft Hobbies to see how it works compared to the Spektrum one that I already have.  I don't want to get attacked by any 'anti-drone-Karens'
