Hey, ASA Members:
It's time to get energized for the 2026 F3L International.
We have already had a sort of start-up meeting, and initial planning is under way. In early May, we will start preparations, and we will need some help.
This year's International will beheld at the Balloon Fiesta Park - closer for a lot of us than the sod farm. The sod farm is not available for contests this year. The dates are 13-14 June, and we have the park from noon on Friday, 12 June, for setup.
The cost to the club this year is not in money - rather, Susan has asked we do trash pick-up on six selected days to help prepare the Park for other, large-scale paid events. We can combine trash pickup with our own flying, if that's convenient.
Tasks we will need help with:
Hi-start testing and stringing
Field layout and marking
Gate duty, Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning.
Picking up catered food from local restaurants
Timing and scoring
Transport of equipment
We-all know what to do, and each task goes rather quickly. Some of them, however, need a body to do them, and more bodies will sometimes mean more less work. Be on the look-out for the next meeting announcement.
See you there.
Yours, Greg McGill
