Anyone been to La Mosca lookout on Mt. Taylor? It has a road to the top. 2 hour plus drive.

Haven’t been there but sounds like a fun day trip to try it out.

This is a great idea.  I remember this from when I was a psycho big runner.  The road goes in from Grants.  As I recall, the dirt parts were pretty well maintained, but that was back in the uranium mining days.

Mount Taylor weather. Bookmark this link so you can check for a good time to go.  Probably after the snows is mostly gone this spring.

As it turns out, Rocky and LP have been to this site back in 2011.  Here is a link.  https://groups.google.com/g/soarabq/c/zcBpiGKQA7s/m/ek_TnxavmzcJ

Go all the way to the last picture for the story.

I've been to Mosca Peak twice in my life.  The first time was in a 4 wheel drive SUV to check on the micro wave equipment on the peak when I worked for PNM.  The second time was in my 1976 VW Dasher sedan just for fun.  That was about 45 years ago, but the road was pretty good then.  I have no idea how good it might be for slope flying.
