Every now and then someone loses a hatch in flight.  I have taken to doing this.

The AMA and FAA do require that you have your name, address, and AMA and FAA registration numbers.
AND, if you ever want to have a chance at getting a lost plane back, there's that important phrase, 'Reward for Return'.
Unless, of course you crash into houses regularly...
