Hi G
I hope all is well.
I
was proud to uphold the governor's veto this past week in Jefferson
City. You can be sure that your State Representative fights hard against
legislation that will hurt our state's education system and social
services.
Thank you for your email and your support.
Sincerely,
State Representative Michael Butler

Subject: Sustain the Veto of House Bill 253
Dear Representative,
I
am very troubled by House Bill 253, the so-called "tax-cut" bill, which
would dramatically impact senior citizens who rely on state funding for
nursing homes, in-home care, and meals on wheels.
It is not
right to force higher property taxes on the elderly and make it more
difficult for them to stay in their homes. The legislation's new tax on
prescription drugs endangers the health of Missouri's most vulnerable
citizens.
HB 253 would also cause significant harm to state
employees, college students, our public schools and universities, the
mentally ill and Missouri public safety in order to help a few very
high-end taxpayers a great deal.
I strongly urge you to vote to sustain the Governor's veto of HB 253.
