Sisters and Brothers,
Last week, the House voted on right to work. It fell short of the 82
votes that are required on a final vote to move the legislation on to
the Senate, but because of all the out-of-state groups who are pulling
out all the stops to turn back workers’ rights in Missouri, the fight is
not over yet.
Right now, there is a very concerted effort underway to pressure four
Representatives to flip their votes, or encourage some of those who
abstained from voting to vote for right to work.
Those supporting right to work will call for a vote as soon as they
think they’ve got the numbers to win. We know they want that as soon as
possible, even this week. It’s up to us to make sure that doesn’t
happen.
