Problems with public-dns.org / .net?

Does anyone know the status of the service at public-dns.org and
public-dns.net?

It seems to have disappeared. I had the DNS info for several domains
hosted with them, and was wondering if I need to explore other options.
I would like to think that if they closed up shop, they would have at
least sent an email to the users letting us know. :(

I am hoping that they are just running into technical woes, and will be
back soon.
