Hey Friends,
Thanks so much for joining our Hurricane Sandy relief group! This list is here for YOU -- post anytime you're volunteering and would like company. Or, you can share your impressions of what's needed on the ground to get needs and people connected.
Tomorrow Mieke and I and a few others are meeting at the Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew at 9:30 am for a short training by the Occupy Sandy folks, and then to be sent to the Rockaways, or wherever else we're needed. We have four vehicles lined up to go, I think. If you'd like to come, meet us there. The church is at 520 Clinton Street in Brooklyn.

We'll let you know how it goes.
I spent a short time distributing meals in the Gowanus houses this evening and folks there are in pretty good shape -- they have heat but no lights, and were glad to be checked in on. The electricity was supposed to come on later that evening -- fingers crossed.
