Dear New Yorker,
A HUGE thank you to all of our Hurricane Sandy volunteers who helped out last weekend!
We have a really important task this weekend and are hoping we can once again count on your support.
The NYC Human Resources Administration recently announced that it's making food stamps available to victims of Hurricane Sandy, but there's a limited amount of time that people can apply for this important benefit.
In order to get the word out as widely as possible, we will be handing out flyers this weekend in affected areas.
Volunteers are needed for both Saturday, December 15th and Sunday, December 16th.
Buses will be departing from 250 Broadway in Lower Manhattan at 10 am and going to one or more affected neighborhoods. If you can help out this weekend, we'd greatly appreciate it! Please RSVP to Sandy...@council.nyc.gov with your name, email, cell phone number, and the day that you would like to join us, and we'll get back to you with additional information.
