Hello All,
The current developer VPN has moved to a different port and URL
endpoint. Also for new installations a new type installer is
developed.
If you have been using the developer VPN you can migrate in 2 ways:
1) Find your configuration file (e.g. C:/Documents and Settings/
Username/switchedonvpn/username.conf) and edit the port to 1095 and
the endpoint to
vpn-dev.switchedon.org
*preferred* 2) make a backup of your certificate (*.crt) and key
(*.key) file (you can find them probably in C:/Documents and Settings/
Username/switchedonvpn/). Remove the current openvpn client and
install a new one by following the instructions on
http://code.google.com/p/so-class2/wiki/Workpackage_VPN_Client_Windows
. Also follow the step of making a key request for the developer VPN
(and use the same name as you had), but do not send the request to the
admin. Instead, replace the key and request file in the directory C:/
Program Files/OpenVPN/config/switchedon_dev_keys with the back
upped .key and .crt files. If everything is working you can remove the
old configuration directory (the one in Documents and Settings\user)
If there are any mistakes/errors in either this migration guide or the
installation wiki, don't hestitate to edit it or send a message. I am
especially very interested in Vista and Windows 7 experiences for the
installation guide.
Regards,
Pete Smit
