Hi there,
as some of you know I’m currently taking part in the Mozilla Working Open Workshop in Berlin. They have lots of recommendations on how to run an open source open science project and I think many of the recommendations are totally applicable to us. The handouts give a good summary of the ideas: http://mozillascience.github.io/working-open-workshop/index.html#handouts

I think two things we could implement straight away to make it easier for new contributors to the project and nicer in general:
1. Adding a Code of Conduct to openSNP, see https://github.com/gedankenstuecke/snpr/issues/237
2. Adding a CONTRIBUTIONS.md, see http://mozillascience.github.io/working-open-workshop/contributing/ For now we could just add the stuff that’s already in the README.md but having some more details would be great. :-)

Cheers,
Bastian
