I haven't gotten super crazy in depth with it or anything, but I think it's actually possible to replicate action set and/or mode shift functionality within Dolphin, which could allow for far more advanced configuration on games with much more in terms of motion controls. It'd also be nice if you could bind a key within Dolphin to unplug/plug in controller extensions, and to load controller profiles.
Hey, I'm new to Dolphin and have been searching the internet everywhere for a way to do this. I've downloaded controller profiles for Super Mario Galaxy 2 and placed them in the Dolphin-emu/config/profiles/wiimote folder on my Note 9. BUT, I have no option to load the profile while configuring the nun-chuck wiimote controller settings.
But then came configuring my xbox controller in various ways for different games to be played properly (Yikes), So far i have made 3 different kind of setups BUT!!!, How do you use a certain profile for a game without going into Dolphin and change it manually??.
First i thought you could just add another copy or build of Dolphin, And then have different controller profiles on each of them, But it seems they share profiles so that the last used profile will be the one you launch a new game with.
Hi, for me the best thing you can do is pré-configure each game (each gc or wii game has an *.ini file) with his own controller profile directly in the dolphin emulator.
that's what I've done, and all runs perfectly, wiimote, nunchuk, classic controller, etc, and you can map it like you want.
This is an example what i did. You can configure controllerprofiles in the controller-settings of Dolphin, save them and let them select via the .ini file. The Line WiimoteSoure selects the Device Dolphin will use as controller.
Woodhomer Thanks mate
in your example there are the lines of the wiimoteprofiles=newsupermariobros
in the dolphin wiki they say: Change Name of Profile to the name of an existing control profile. It requires that you have created and saved a new control profile beforehand in the controller configuration window for the emulated Wii Remote.
where do i get profile file?
btw, are your setting for wii controller?im using psx controller. that means the settings are deferant?
Im using Xbox One Controller. So your psx controller should work like my controller to.
You have to go into Controller Configuration, then select emulatet wiimote and click on edit or change on the right side. Now you see the screen for button mapping. From here you can select your InputDevice on the left side. Then map the keys like you want it for your spezific game. After mapping you can save this profile on the right upper side. For example name it newsupermariobros1 (for player one). Then i made this again but i selected my next Xbox One Controller as InputDevice and named it newsupermariobros2 and so on.
I decided to make a mod of my own for this project, creating both a profile made for Xbox/Logitech controllers as well as texture mods that replace the GameCube button icons with those resembling XBOX controls.
This is my first post on this sub. I have a weak pc that I mainly use as a interface for downloading games for the xbox emulators, formatting drives etc. I dont have dolphin for pc and I dont use the pc itself very often.
I was wondering if the current build of dolphin has a way to select a controller profile / configuration for wii games that rely on simple motion gestures, such as mario galaxy 1 and 2, dkc returns etc. I imagine that games such as these would only require mapping a shake to r3.
Finally, if theres such a thing as a control config file, does dolphin automatically recognizes the gc controller for gc games and wiimote for wii games? I want the emulator to point to the right control scheme based on the platform of the game Im playing. I dont want to load a config file that will make gc games think Im using a wiimote or vice versa.
hello everyone, today I would like to share something, an all in one controller profile for the Xbox One and SN30 Pro+ controllers. This profile took me about a week of trial and error to get to what I think is the perfect state, less simple than a Wii remote, but more simple than needing to go into a menu and switch between 3 profiles. Here is how it works, X and/or Y are to spin attack, ZL is to crouch, right stick is to aim pointer. Now, for using Fluzzard it is Left Bumper+Right Stick, for rolling on a ball it is Right Bumper+Left stick. It took me about a week, I set it up with what i thought was a good starting place and worked out the flaws when I would find them. I really hope you like this profile. If you like this profile and want me to consider working on making more controller profiles for other games just let me know.
EDIT: I found the problem. Apparently this was defaulting to my Gamecube controller configuration and not using my custom Wii Classic Controller profile. Clearing out the default Gamecube controller settings fixed the issue.
I'm playing Paper Mario in Dolphin, and my controller profile doesn't seem to be working properly. I tried setting up some turbo buttons, and while I can tell that they're working in the actual controller configuration menu, they don't work when I play the game.
To test if Dolphin was overriding my profiles, I removed all of my profile .ini files and reset the controller config to the Wii default keyboard. And yet, when I load the game, my Xbox controller still works perfectly fine even though there aren't any settings that should allow it to.
Is there some hidden default Xbox controller profile that automatically loads? I'm purposely trying to get the game to not work, and yet it still is. Where is this mysterious Wii Classic Controller profile coming from?
Hi, I don't have a may-flash adapter so I have to resort to my Xbox 360 controller. What config do you guys find optimal for Xbox 360 controllers with dolphin and project M? From button configs all the way to dead-zone configs, also I have a rock-candy Xbox 360 controller if that helps.
I downloaded an Xbox controller profile for Primehack but it keeps resetting my cursor to the middle and it barely moves when i touch the right stick. Does anyone have a working Xbox controller profile for Primehack they're willing to share?
