I totally agree with you about the upcoming Lego Mario Kart game. I saw some of the car designs too and they look pretty cool. I've always loved building Legos as a kid, so I'm definitely looking forward to this game. It's weird that nobody's really talking about it though. Maybe it's because there are so many new game releases coming out this year. But honestly, I think it's going to be a hit among both Mario and Lego fans. By the way, have you checked out It's a blog that I follow to keep up with all the latest gaming news. They have some really good articles on upcoming game releases and reviews on some of the most popular games out right now.

Anyway, I would love to get it one day, preferably on a sale, because it seems way too expensive at the moment. I hope more pieces will be available eventually, because I am sure everyone would love to have their favorite Speed Champions design in the game.

There's lots of bricks and colours/stickers/paints available to design your car, though I haven't tried that yet. You can unlock parts/cars/colours/stickers/racing drivers etc. through completing challenges and by spending Brick Bucks; an in-game currency that you can pick up as you drive around, earn by completing races and challenges etc. I just earned set 60383 in-game by winning a race in story mode. I also believe you can use real world money to buy in-game Brick Bucks bundles if you don't want to grind to earn them.

Now we're getting physical Lego 2K drive sets as it's own Lego theme/sub theme of City; I wonder if we'll eventually get recolours of the Monkey King hair and tail pieces for Unkie and Sunny, the Monkey pit crew/body shop characters in the game? I hope there's a code or something with the sets so you can have the cars/characters in the game.

Speaking of customization, in addition to the normal Lego cars in the game, you can even customize your own cars using Lego bricks. There aren't many officially licensed real cars in the game, outside of a couple of McLarens (Solus GT and F1) but there is a hilariously named "Hamburghini." Though I wouldn't be surprised to see more licensed cars come as part of various DLC packs in the future.

This game looks like my childhood imagination brought to the screen and seems like an absolute blast for both kids and parents alike. It comes out on May 19 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series, and PC, via Steam or Epic Games Store.

Set in the fictional "Legoland" universe, the single-player mode follows various minifigure characters competing in a racing competition created by a fictional racing champion called Rocket Racer. Players control a minifigure, allowing them to drive a variety of cars built out of Lego and race them against other minifigure characters. Items can be used by the player to hinder other racers' progress, and the player can create their own cars and characters with unlocked Lego bricks and use them to race. A local multiplayer mode also allows multiple players to race against each other.

Originally conceived by High Voltage founder Kerry J. Ganofsky, creative expertise from The Lego Group assisted High Voltage in the game's development after Lego Media agreed to begin production. It received mixed reviews from critics, who were divided on the game's graphics, construction system, driving gameplay and other design aspects. Two sequels developed by Attention to Detail, called Lego Racers 2 and Drome Racers, were released in 2001 and 2002, respectively. Over two decades later, in the ninth generation of video game consoles, 2K Games announced a new Lego open world driving game titled Lego 2K Drive.[7][8][9][10]

Lego Racers is a racing game played from a third person perspective. Set in the fictional Legoland universe, the game depicts Rocket Racer, the "greatest racing champion" in Legoland. After becoming bored from beating everyone at racing, he decides to create a racing contest, and finds the best racers in the history of Legoland using a dimensional warp machine created by his friend, Veronica Voltage, a genius scientist and mechanic. The player takes on the hosts and co-racers in circuits of races in an attempt to reach and beat Rocket Racer and become the "Greatest Lego Racer of All Time", completing the game.[11] Each circuit is contested by the player, the host, and four randomly chosen co-racers, and has four tracks. The hosts are, in order, Captain Redbeard, King Kahuka, Basil the Batlord, Johnny Thunder, Baron Von Barron, and Gypsy Moth. In these circuits there are a total of 12 unique tracks; the later three circuits are the first three circuits reversed track-wise with each track now mirrored.
