Hi everybody,
the GENIVI Alliance (
http://www.genivi.org/), a non-profit industry alliance committed to driving the broad adoption of an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) open-source development platform, and its expert group Networking (which includes the browser) defined a system architecture for a browser component for IVI systems.
For verification of the architecture, the Genivi EG wants to have a proof-of-concept implementation of a limited set of defined features. The idea would be to use the Snowshoe browser implementation as reference and adapt it to the architecture of the Genivi EG. The intended adaption would be the addition of a DBUS interface to services, using the example of bookmark management, to be used by other applications.
Genivi explicitly asked to do that as open-source project and not internally. We would like to do that as a feature branch to the existing snowshow master branch, if nobody objects. As it is now hosted on
qt-project.org, we would like to do it there and also use the
qt-project.org infrastructure.
A different solution, if that approach won't be accepted on
qt-project.org, is to host it on
gitorous.org.
Any comments on that?
Best regards,
Marcel
