Hi,
I live in Australia and I need to change the date format in Excel to the proper format. It currently displays as mm/dd/yyyy.
I've already checked the date format of my Dropbox account and it is already set to dd/mm/yyyy/
How do I get Excel online to honour the correct format.
Paul
The date format problem is one of the weaknesses of Excel. If you want to create internationalized worksheets that work in every country you have to detect the local regional settings and internationalize all formatting, input parsing and formula generating formulas.
Hi Paul! This appears to be more of an Excel issue than of a Dropbox issue.. but you can change the formatting of Excel files in the excel settings. Just found this online, maybe it helps. -
easy.com/basics/format-cells.html
Dropbox Web Preferences -> Language: Direct effect on Excel Online date format
Dropbox Web Preferences -> Date format: No effect on Excel Online date format
Chrome (Browser) Preferences -> No effect on Excel Online date format
This shouldnt be so complicated. How is the average excel user supposed to be able to do this? Without the correct date format, this makes managing date related spreadsheets on dropbox cumbersome and essentially useless.
I'm building a pivot table in Excel Online. I'd like it to be in a tabular layout. Following the instructions I see online say to go to pivot table settings, but I can't see how to make the change to tabular settings. Below is an example of my current table and the "Pivot Table Settings" menu. Also a picture below that shows an example of what I'd like to achieve.
Not all settings for a pivot table are available in Excel Online. The Tabular Form report layout is currently only available in Excel for Desktop, so you need to open the file in the desktop version to use that setting. After that, Excel Online can display the pivot table, but you cannot set that option in Excel Online.
We're now offering you a choice between testing formats: paper and pencil or online testing. This means you can maximize your performance and confidence by taking the ACT in the way that feels best for you.
An online option allows us to provide additional accessibility features, including support for screen reader users, text-to-speech functionality, zoom, and answer masking. These are not "features" for many of our students, but necessities for equal access. By offering an online option, we are able to help more students meet their goals for academic and career success.
Yes. To learn more about our testing accommodations, please review our accommodations policies. There will also be accessibility tools built into the software to help with your online testing experience. The following accessibility supports will be available to all students:
If the computer you are on experiences difficulties on test day that cannot be easily or quickly resolved by the testing staff, they may be able to move you to a new testing device. If a new device is unable to resolve the issue, your test center will let ACT know, and ACT will work with your test center for rescheduled testing.
When creating a new feature using a webapp editing widget the date format is coming up incorrect (month, date, year) which is quite a problem for us within New Zealand. How do I fix this?
I have customised the date format within the web map and I can confirm that day, month, year has been chosen (see below picture) and this comes through for the pop-up BUT it the editor within the webapp still defaults to m/d/y.
I too wish to know how to do this? I doubt that it can be unfortunately and believe that this NEEDS to be built in for non American users (like us in Australia). It is quite confusing for staff who are not versed in the ways of AGOL technicalities. Simply, the edit popup date format should honour the customised display popup format.
It is all very well to be able to configure a POPUP to APPEAR in the format you want, when what we want is all aspects of the program to process in terms of the regional setting of the computer it has been opened on.
Even on this web page, as I enter this comment now, the line below says 'Your content was last auto-saved at 11:32 AM' even though its 6:32 AM at the bottom of my screen. It would appear that Bill Gates has a better vision of the world than Jack and the ESRI GIS world does.
As a temp fix we have changed our AGOL organisational language settings from browser default to English - UK. English - Australian would have been preferred (or English - New Zealand wow would have been best!) but there is still a bug with the Australian one which turns the date American.
Hey @cmalone1112 Thanks for the suggestion, will give it a shot when I republish the report later on this afternoon and see how the Power BI service reacts to it. Power BI Service is not my friend today
This is a quick guide to fixing the issue related to incorrect dates in the Power BI service. Here is how to change the date format in the Power BI Service. In this case the developer has created the date correctly in Power BI Desktop, however,...
Am I the only one who is having a lot of trouble adjusting to the new website format for booking flights. I am a pretty regular traveler on Southwest and I absolutely hate the new format. I sure wish somehow we could get the old look back. Let me know your thoughts as well.
I wished I had a screen shot of the old version and then a screen shot of the new one side by side. I have tried to use the new one quite a bit and just can't seem to be able to grasp the format nearly as easy as the old one. It just seems way too busy overall! If there is someone from Southwest reading this, I would love to have the have them get a screen shot of the old and a screenshot of the new and I can walk them through the differences. I think it is a major setback for this website.
Lately I've been getting the fare columns in reverse traditional order (WGA-AT-BS vs BS-AT-WGA). This happened intermittently in the beginning, then (I thought) it was "fixed," but now it's back. I hope this isn't a permanent change. While I realize there is an argument for either order being "correct," I think the way it has always been done in the past is fine, and see no reason to change it.
Also, if you've clicked on the Low Fare Calendar, the fares then shown include the "lowest" at the top, putting them out of order and making departure/arrival times confusing. A better approach might be to show all flights in order, but highlight the lowest fares somehow.
Lastly, as mentioned in another thread, the new layout "hides" some important info until you click on the link revealing it (the Travel Funds/Voucher/Gift Card section under Payment Methods, for example). I understand the need for simplicity, but this is already generating customer confusion. Perhaps those links could be made more prominent.
It threw me off as well when that first changed I was like whoa there. I like the added color but personally like the old way of wanna get away on the right. I have to watch now to make sure I don't click a BS ticket when I want the WGA ticket.
I do like the website telling me how much of a difference I would have when changing a reservation on the select flights screen though because I don't always know what I paid for a ticket without going to my email or online banking so I can see oh it's $20 more or less now without clicking continue saves a step when trying to see do I want to change to this or that when price matters.
It took me a bit to get used to the new website but it allows for faster toggle between city pairs, as well as looking at price differences without having to go back. It also reordered some of the displays so the prices are higher left--right. Some getting used to but I think its more efficient
Currently, we use the US version of QB online which shows how we write date in the US (Month/Date/Year). It is possible to change the dates to show either DD/MM/YYYY or just spelled out like November 25, 2020 or 25 November, 2020?
