Important reminder and exciting opportunity

Good Evening, SNOW Clubbers!

I hope you enjoyed the sunshine today (before the rain…).  Warm days are coming!

This email is to remind you that the online Open is your last opportunity to qualify to the Regional Championship that is held in NJ the week after Easter.  Late registration for the online Open closes on March 30 at 3 pm—that’s one week from today.  The dates of the tournament are April 6-9.  Parents, even if your student is not competing, NCFCA could really use your participation as a judge!  You can register to judge anytime between now and the tournament.  If you do register, that means your student can also watch speeches (great learning opportunity!).  

The other reason for this email is to let you know about a great opportunity we have coming up on Monday, April 11th.  That is just a little over a week from the start of Regionals.  Mrs Heather Neumann, one of the top speech coaches in the country, will be here to offer coaching the entire day.  This is a great opportunity to get fresh eyes on speeches for last-minute tweaks before Regionals from someone who has coached many National winners.  She is coming because she loves Region 10 and is coming at her own expense.  If you know you would like to have coaching that day, we ask simply that you make a donation to help defray the cost of her flight.  If any of you came to our speech camp a few years ago, Mrs Neumann was the dynamic woman who led us. :)

We recognize that this is also a debate day (also important one week before Regionals!), so if you would like to have coaching and also have debate, we will put you at the front of the line to go in the morning.  Depending on how many students we have, we may go into the evening as well (pizza, anyone?).  Your other speech coaches (and hopefully parents) will be pitching in to coach as well.  Location is TBD, but probably 38 Raymond Street. ;)
