This year we are offering a special incentive to challenge high school students in the six New England states to create a video of themselves delivering an excerpt of one of President Coolidge’s speeches. We are calling it The New England Challenge.The New England Challenge is open to all high school students (grades 9-12) in New England. Every student who submits a well-prepared entry to the Coolidge Cup Online Declamation competition will receive a $25 prize, and will be entered to win an expenses-paid trip to compete at the Coolidge Cup speech and debate tournament in Plymouth, Vermont, in July 2-4, 2022.
As a bonus incentive for educators to get involved, the Coolidge Foundation is also offering a $100 gift card for school supplies to all New England educators who get at least three of their students to enter the New England Challenge.The deadline for entries is April 16, 2022.More details are available here: https://coolidgefoundation.org/debate/the-new-england-challenge/If you know a high school student who might be interested in participating, please share with them this message.
