With Snooth's increased emphasis on getting businesses to get more
involved, will there be more API data available for wineries? For
example, searching for a winery by name.

Hi Tom,

Just to clarify, you want to give the API a query for a winery name
and have it return a list of matching wineries?

Currently you can pass any winery name to the wine search method of
the API and get a list of their wines.

Correct, a robust way to search for wineries and stores not only by
distance around oneself but also by name (think Google maps
interface). The iPhone version of Wine by the Bar (and eventually the
Android app) will be have integrated maps to find stores close by as
well as far off wineries.

It's definitely something we would like to add in the future.
Currently none of the advanced information we have for wineries is
available through the API, but I can see that this will be a need in
the future as we hear from the community more.

I have 2 questions.
Where can we get the store ID for a winery.
I was testing out api.snooth.com/wines/?q=black+stallion+winery
but it returned some results for a vodkas as well.
my hope was to use api.snooth.com/store/Id="?"
but I don't know where to ge the store ID from.

in any case I still would not mind using the /store/?q=blah+blah+blah
but I wish I could see an example of how the results are handled with
javascript

I love that this API is available.
can you point me to a where I might find some more documentation on
the API responce handling in Javascript?
