Sounds like a good fun club experiment. Let's explore!

Bob not a Long Island Iced Tea.

Something more like Twisted Tea.

We should try to have one to serve at MHF this summer.

We can discuss more at this month’s meeting on the 19th.

i would assume all teas have very little to no sugar as they are normally dried leafs.

We are also getting ready to make some hard ice tea -- we have a box of black tea (bags) and plan to steep them, add water to make 3 gallons and 1 cup of sugar per gallon (so three cups)... should we up our sugar? We dont want it to be a super high ACV, we want it to be enjoyable :)

Also, can you add Wayne's email to this group? wbru...@wbgx.com

1 cup in 3 gal is very low.
1 cup of sugar is .44 lb in 3 gal  OG is 1.007, ABV 1.1% assuming FG is .998

I did 1lb sugar, 1lb LME and 16 tea bags, in 1gal

Curious how everyone's experiment is going.

I decided on my standard iced tea recipe.

1 gallon batch

Regular black tea.

To go hard added:

13.5 oz of organic cane sugar
1 pack D47 red wine yeast
1/8 tsp yeast nutrient day 1
1/8 tsp yeast nutrient day 3

I plan to cold crash, taste, and back sweeten and or adjust taste this weekend.

Mine is definitely different from the first one.
Not sure if it's better or worse.

1 Gal
1Lb LME
1LB Sugar
.2 oz @ 15min
16 Tea bags (Bags opened)
1 Blood Orange (zest and juice)
Yeast 1118
OG: 1.081
FG: 1.024
ABV 7.6
