Dear DR Bandopadhyaya,

This refers to your mail in which Dr. Singla whose name had been selected for travel grant has pointed out that no action has been taken for the disbursement of the travel grant of 60,000 INR for SNMMI USAI want to place the following facts for your kind perusal. The candidate in an email communication had informed that he would not be able to submit the full paper of the abstract (presented in SNM USA) to IJNM (appended below as italics). Thereafter the matter was discussed in the EC meeting that was held in Delhi in Sep 2013 and EC was of opinion that the grant should be released only after full paper of the same abstract is submitted to IJNM (quote from the minutes appended below in bold font).
Hence, the grant has not been disbursed. The other candidate PG candidate of PGIMER, Chandigarh had submitted the full paper to IJNM and hence her grant was disbursed.
In case any of previous EC members or new EC members are of opinion that we should waiver off this option for this individual candidate then please take a call on this in a democratic manner.
(Greetings Sir,
I am to avail the travel grant sanctioned by SNM India for SNMMI conference at Vancouver Canada. I was not aware that my paper is to be submitted in IJNM at the time of approval of grant as it was not mentioned any of your mails. I may not able to submit this work as it has been done under Prof. C.S. Bal. I can submit an equivalent original (full-text) article in IJNM if required.
Kindly advise.

"...Regarding the SNMMI USA 2013 grants it was pointed out by Dr. Gaurav that a candidate had asked for permission to submit another paper instead of the paper he had presented at the SNMMI conference of the USA as per instructions from his mentor in India. EC took a strong objection to this and the request was categorically turned down. The grant would only be released if the same full paper is submitted to the IJNM abstract of which was presented in the conference..."

Best regards
Gaurav

To: guru banerjee <gur...@gmail.com>

Dear Sir

I was  sanctioned SNM India travel grant of Rs. 60,000 for
International Travel to Vancouver, BC, Canada, for SNMMI 2013. After
my return to India, I applied for its reimbursement after attaching
the relevant documents to Dr. Gaurav Malhotra on 23/06/2013. However,
no further action has been initiated for its disbursement.

I request you to klindly look into the matter and expedite the release
of the grant.

Regards

Dr. Suhas Singla
